A successful year for the Bramhall Festival
23 Jun 2016This year’s disco-themed Bramhall Festival was heralded a great success by the organising team at the Bramhall Together Trust.
The weather held and a real party atmosphere prevailed across the village, with the main road closed to traffic for the day. This year’s event was attended by the Mayor and Deputy Mayor, along with MP Mary Robinson, who opened the festival and judged the day’s dance competition.
This year’s event included Imagine FM and DJ Leroy Lurve keeping the crowd entertained throughout the day; a dance competition on the main stage; local talent performing acoustic sets; the Maker’s Market and a vinyl and vintage market. There were also traditional kids’ games, street food and great gifts for Father’s Day.
Chair of Bramhall Together Trust, Roger Prydderch commented,
“It was great to see so many of the village traders supporting the festival and the good weather brought out a huge crowd to watch the entertainment on stage, pick up unusual gifts at the various markets and hang around all day to eat, drink and thoroughly enjoy themselves”.
5 Star Unique talent won the ‘Festival Cup’ and £100 in the dance competition, receiving their award from the Mayor of Stockport, and the crowds were treated to the sounds of Funky Town Disco Band, Abba fusion and Katie Hughes throughout the afternoon.

I enjoyed the atmosphere in Bramhall last Saturday. It was nice to be able to wander that stretch of road without bothering about traffic and everyone was smiling.
Well done. I do like living in Bramhall. Whoops! I nearly said I Love Bramhall, trade mark infringement alert.
