B2B World Cup Fundraiser

17 Jul 2014

Bramhall Based Market Research Specialist B2B held a charity fundraiser for the Christie Hospital.

On Friday 11 July, global market research specialist B2B International held a World Cup Fundraising Day at its Bramhall headquarters in aid of The Christie hospital, their chosen local charity for the past two and a half years. They used the countries and colours of the last eight teams in the 2014 tournament as a basis for the day’s activities in the office.

Thanks to the wonders of technology, staff at their London office joined in remotely and the General Manager from their new office in Dusseldorf, Germany, was also able to join in via webcam. B2B International’s German office opened earlier this month, and they’re hoping Germany winning the World Cup is a good omen for this!

Staff brought in homemade food from different countries ranging from savoury offerings from France, Germany and Belgium, to cakes and cookies (and moreish chocolate fudge cake decorated with the Argentinian flag). These were sold during the day and raised an amazing £76. There was a competition for the most imaginative use of costume/colour inspired by the different nations. A vote among staff chose Simi Dhawan as the winner; dressed as a French lady with red beret, she went one step further and wore French flag contact lenses for the whole day. They  held several raffles in the company over the past years to raise funds. The company contributed several prizes (including the first prize of a day’s paid leave) but, this year, they also decided to ask local businesses if they could donate prizes.

They were overwhelmed by the responses from the Bramhall-based businesses that we approached and, as the prizes started to flow in, they decided to sell tickets earlier than Friday.

The raffle raised an incredible £345, and they would like to thank the following for their generosity:

The Victorian, Modern Nails, Sainsbury’s, Modiste, Unwins, Ego Restaurant, Beluga, Amans Restaurant, A Sweet Thought, Simply Books, Amaranth, Pesto, Bramhall Flowers, Beauty by Barnett, Bramhall Bakery, Boots, Costa Coffee, SOS clothes, The Bubble Room, Partyway.

Including the funds raised by their July-based quiz, the amount on the day was an incredible £449.40 – which the company kindly matched, rounding up the total raised for The Christie to £900.
