19 Oct 2015

Ged Lynch, Cheshire based restaurant operator has today announced his plans for 226 Bramhall Lane South, Bramhall the site currently operating as Beluga. The restaurant will undergo extensive refurbishment from late October ready to reopen for the Christmas and New Year season on December 1st.

The new concept ‘Public Market’ promises to offer something new to the thriving Bramhall restaurant and bar scene. The café/bar will be open all day 7 days a week serving breakfast, light snacks, artisan cakes, salads, pizzas to eat in or take out and oven baked pasta dishes from the wood fired pizza oven

Ged Lynch is a restaurant operator with over 25 years’ experience working on well-known concepts such as Grinch, Felicini, The Pointing Dog, Mud Crab Diners and the Cornerhouse, he says

“We are very excited to have acquired this site and hope to build on the legacy of Beluga. We aim to create an open plan multifunctional space where all age groups can interact. We have taken great care to source the finest quality ingredients and are keen to support local suppliers wherever possible. Our pizzas will be made from a slow rising sour dough base from a closely guarded Neapolitan recipe creating a light and moreish pizza unlike anything you’ve tried before. We’re pleased to be able to offer our pizzas to customers to eat in or takeaway and aim to launch a delivery service early next year to compliment this.”

The heartbeat of the restaurant will be the wood fired pizza oven which will cook 95% of the eateries menu. The oven reaches temperatures of 500 degrees centigrade meaning a pizza can be freshly cooked in just 90 seconds. The excess heat will be redistributed to an underfloor heating system providing heat for the restaurant and outside space in addition to the water system this is just one of Public Market’s many unique features.

Public Market’s innovative design is the mastermind of renowned interior designer Laura McCree who has created a universal space with the community in mind much like a public market McCree believes the space will be the hub of the community with cinematic, live music and exceptional art all regular features.

McCree says:

“Working with a dynamic space such as Public Market is a designers dream there are limitless opportunities on how we can utilise it my intention is to cultivate this so that customers can create their own unique experiences.”

The eatery will provide indoor seating for 130 covers and will make full use of the front and rear areas to accommodate al fresco drinking and dining all year round. Public Market will be offering a fixed price Christmas menu and can work with companies of all sizes to create a bespoke Christmas party package, for more details contact Public Market on 0161 439 8080.
