Ben’s 401 Marathon Challenge – heading to Bramhall
6 Jan 2016On the 1st September 2015 Ben Smith began one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of this life……401 marathons in 401 consecutive days!
Ben will be undertaking this ‘World Record’ attempt which will see him run 401 marathons in 401 consecutive days around 309 different locations of the UK mainland, including Bramhall on Sunday 10 Jan with Bramhall Runners as his guides, his 132th marathon!
They will be setting off from the gates of Bramhall Park (nr Bramhall Green roundabout) at 8.45am on Sunday 10th, he will be doing 3 laps of the route below and ending at approx 1.45pm. People are welcome to join him on as much of this challenge as they can to run, jog, walk, cycle or just cheer him on!
If you see him on Sunday morning please give him a beep or a wave!
The lovely people of Bramhall have offered to help him along his way
- Sandwich Heaven offered to give Ben breakfast
- 1st Bramhall Guides will be offering the runners a drink stop at Benja Fold along with Jelly Babies and bananas
- Juniper Cafe with be donating a tray bake to the runners
- Ladybrook Pub will be giving Ben lunch
- Balance Complementary Therapies will be giving Ben a post run treatment
The challenge will aim to raise both awareness of the issues of bullying in our society along with £250,000 for two amazing charities dedicated to tackling bullying. The two charities are called ‘Stonewall’ and ‘Kidscape’. Both these charities work tirelessly to support award winning initiatives which really get to the heart of bullying in our UK schools and society in all its forms. The £250,000 raised through generous donations from UK business’ and the public will help support both these charities carry on the amazing work they do.
