Bramhall to host the biggest 80s music event

Get your glow sticks and Deeley-Boppers ready as Bramhall will become host to the BIGGEST 80s festival that Stockport has ever seen next Summer!80s Smash Hits On The Pitch will take place on Saturday 20th July 2019 in the great setting of Stockport Rugby Club, Headlands Road, Bramhall.

Kitted out with a giant stage and 2 huge screens, Stockport Rugby Club is the only fitting venue for top 80s stars including:

  • * Spandau Ballet’s Martin Kemp is hitting the decks and doing a DJ set. Martin Kemp was the brains behind the songs written for the seminal band Spandau Ballet. He was at the forefront of the New Romantic music movement and will keep you dancing all night long.Smash Hits on the pitch
  • * Toyah  was one of the most popular female singers to front a Post-Punk/New Wave band, releasing hits such as “I Want to be FreeSmash Hits on the pitch
  • * Odyssey are one of the most favoured archetypal, the early 80s ‘feel good’ groups. They provided the 80s with some classic disco tracks such as “Going Back to my RootsSmash Hits on the pitch
  • * Tight Fit were definitely played at any parties you went to in the 80s! Their UK number 1 “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” will take you back to nights out in 1982.Smash Hits on the pitch
  • * Sonia was part of the world famous PWL ‘hit factory’, gifting us with dancefloors classics such as “You’ll Never Stop Me Loving YouSmash Hits on the pitch
  • Hazell Dean is best known for the top ten hits in the United KingdomSearchin’ (I Gotta Find a Man)“, “Whatever I Do (Wherever I Go)” and “Who’s Leaving WhoSmash Hits on the pitch
  • * Kelly Wilde is an Australian International Recording Artiste who has performed in 32 countries Around the World. She was chosen to be the BRITISH ENTRY FOR EUROVISION “Song for Europe”,- EUROVISION as seen on BBC 1 Television with her Original track “You’d Better be Good to Me” .
  • * Wiggy (from the Hitman And Her) – The Hitman and Her was a seminal TV show throughout the 80s that frequented all the biggest nightclubs nationwide. Wiggy will definitely make you nostalgic about your 80s days!

all hosted by the loveable local Leroy Lurve a DJ and will ensure you’ll all keep boogying all day long. His natural habitat IS the disco!

The site which was formally home to “Headlander” festival, Stockport’s previous family music festival that attracted around 6,000 attendees over the weekend, and offers a family fun day of epic proportions, complete with a fairground, food from around the word and exotic Bars including a Gin Palace and Prosecco Lounge.

The gates for 80’s Smash Hits On The Pitch will open at 12 noon and there will be an after show party.

VIP tickets include fast-track entry, drink and food as a welcome, allocated bar and food outlets, access to VIP viewing area, clubhouse and balcony, your own VIP toilets and entry to an after-show party with special DJ’s in the clubhouse.

There is local Parking at Hazel Grove High School and an Early Bird Ticket from just £19. There are also family-package tickets available, but hurry as tickets for the hottest event of the year is selling like a Rubik’s Cube in 1981!
