Bramhall Duck Race 2016 – The Photos

An estimated 24 – 25,000 people supported the Bramhall And Woodford Rotary Club held the Bramhall Duck Race at Bramhall Park on Sunday May 15th. Check out the photos here.

There was a variety of duck races to enter including the Giant Duck Races which were supported by local businesses and community groups

The winners were as follows:


The Best Dressed Duck judged by MP Mary Robinson was won by Bramhall Methodist Church Rainbows.


Small ducks were on sale and there was a number of races for people to place their bet on, the winning tickets were..

As well as Duck racing there was a fairground, games, singers, dancing groups and craft stalls. This year they also had Rainbow 88‘s Chinese Lion Dance, a demonstration of Krav Maga and Shetland Pony Rides!


I Love Bramhall & I Love Cheadle Hulme went head to head with a Tug of War challenge. The children’s Tug of War was won by Cheadle Hulme and the adults competition was won by Bramhall.


The Bramhall Bake Off with Bramhall Bakery was judged by Mayor & Mayoress of Stockport and won by

  • * Scones – Poppy Kirkham
  • * Most Decorative Cup Cake – Gill Halloway
  • * Best Cup Cake – Elise & Cory
  • * Most Decorative Victoria Sponge – Joanne Watts
  • * Best Victoria Sponge – Steph Oerton
  • * Best Victoria Sponge runner up – Andrew

The winners won a Masterclass with Scott from Bramhall Bakery and gifts from Crookilley Crafts and Lakeland


The Schools Choir Festival attracted five participants vying for the Bramhall & Woodford Rotary Club Cup and the standard was absolutely tremendous. The judges, Kate Firth and Kirsty, decided on:
1. Bradshaw Hall School choir.
2. Cheadle Catholic School choir,
3= Moss Hey School choir,
3= Pownall Green School,
3= St Catherine’s RC School,

At the end of the presentation everyone gave the choirs, other entertainers and themselves a huge cheer for supporting other children and their families who visit Francis House. It was a really magical moment.


The winning location for Columbus Bear travelling courtesy of Prestbury Travel Worldwide was D3


The money raised will be shared between the Francis House Children’s Hospice which is based in Didsbury, and other charities supported by the Rotary Club.
