Bramhall Festival 2015

8 Jun 2015

‘Step Back In Time’ themed Bramhall Festival 2015 promises to bring a touch of vintage style to the village this Summer on 12-14 June

Over Saturday and Sunday Bramhall will enter a time warp, as a Vintage Market & Vinyl Record Fair takes place in the Village Square filling the bunting decorated village with food and drink stalls, plus the opportunity to buy unique up-cycled furniture, vintage gifts, vinyl records, clothes and gorgeous garden items.

With a range of events aimed at everyone from the youngest children to the area’s senior citizens, the festival will be completely inclusive, cementing its place as the focal point in the region’s calendar of events.

Once again, the Bramhall Festival will be launched with a free tea party for Bramhall’s senior citizens on the afternoon of Friday 12th held in St Michael’s Church Hall sponsored by Amaranth, Hearing Clearly and Optique Opticians

A popular festival event is the 5k festival run which takes place on Saturday Morning organised by the Bramhall Runners, sponsored by Hydraulic & Gas Services. The enthusiastic participants span the generations – indeed many families not only run together but they have been known to bring the dogs along for a bit of exercise too! The highlight of the weekend is always the Parade sponsored by Williams BMW this year, they will have their i8 in the parade and we will have an opportunity to have a good look at them later in the day. The parade will take place at 11am on Saturday 13th. Last year’s Festival Cup – not to mention a cheque for £200, was presented to 1st Bramhall Scouts who impressed the crowds by ‘water skiing’ down Bramhall Lane South! This year the £200 cheque is kindly sponsored by the landlords of the Village Square – Himor. There is still time to be part of it, download the entry form Bramhall Festival Parade entry form 2015 we would love your sports, dance, scout or guide group to be involved.

Local community groups and individuals will showcase their talents and entertain the crowds on the Imagine FM stage, including Fiona Watson School of Dance, the Bramhall Community Choir and Blank Cheque among others.

There will also be a fabulous fun fair, donkey rides, maypole dancing, balloon modelling and activities for the children.

Following on from last year’s successful event, Songs of Praise is back – in a marquee on the lawns of Hillbrook Grange – on the Sunday, from 4.30pm – 6pm.
Come along and sing some of your favourite hymns and find out why people like them so much. Free strawberries and cream will help your vocal chords perform
at their very best!!

The festival is organised by the Bramhall Together Trust, where local volunteers commit a great deal of time and effort into organising events such as this, along with other local showpieces including Bramhall’s Got Talent and Light Up Bramhall. Vice-Chair Wendy Green expresses her delight at how the village is pulling together to help make the Festival better than ever, “We’ve already received invaluable financial support from Bramhall Conservative Councillors (SMBC), Williams BMW, Hydraulic & Gas Services, Himor and not to mention the wider community.”

Wendy also highlights that “The festival will showcase the best of Bramhall, including its amazing community and the wide range of local business, we look forward to welcoming everybody for a great weekend of family fun”. She also points out that there is still ample time for everyone to get involved. Whether you would like to take part in the Parade, provide entertainment, have a stall within the Vintage Market or just help on the day.
