Building brands and capturing lockdown life with Chelsea Shoesmith Photography

14 Aug 2020

From socially distant family photo shoots to doorstep portraits, our local lenswoman Chelsea Shoesmith has been busy snapping Bramhall residents these last few months, as families commemorate this strange but special time together.

Chelsea Shoesmith Photography may be known for beautiful wedding pictures, but since most nuptials have been postponed until next year, Chelsea’s had more time to focus on other areas of her business. Family shoots, in particular, have proved popular, as locals look to immortalise their lockdown lives and create memories of this unprecedented time.

A big fan of the great outdoors, Chelsea has been delighted with her growing workload of open-air shoots, imposed in part by the lockdown restrictions, including a recent trip to Sale Water Park to photograph a family paddle-boarding session. She’s also had the opportunity to photograph some of our local business people, taking branding pictures for bookkeepers Your Support Team and headshots of the hairdressing team at Eds.

The branding side of Chelsea Shoesmith Photography is growing, and Chelsea says she enjoys the collaborative nature of business photoshoots. She’s captured many a mouthwatering morsel for local restaurants including Juniper Bramhall, Chilli Banana and Bombay to Mumbai, for example, and also photographs styled shoots for venues, having recently showcased all the best features of popular High Peak wedding venue Upper House in Hayfield.

The opportunity to travel up into the hills was welcomed: Chelsea has a love of running and keeping healthy outside, having recently completed a ‘Run 1000km in 100 days’ challenge – that’s a whopping 1,000km, which included two trail marathons, multiple half marathons and, we assume, lots of jogging in between!

Fell running is a particular favourite pastime of Chelsea’s; she loves nothing more than traversing the challenging upland terrain of Lyme Park or Kinder Scout. All this activity in the great outdoors gives Chelsea a lot of enjoyment and has also led to new friendships, she says.

Aside from running, and when she isn’t capturing special moments, helping businesses build their brands or photographing events like our annual Dog Show and Moxie Mingle Networking sessions, Chelsea is also a dab hand at creating cakes with a real wow factor.

A keen home baker, Chelsea knows how important it is to enjoy everything in moderation, having embarked on her own weight loss journey in 2017. Fast forward to 2020 and Chelsea has lost four stone, having discovered the manifold benefits of fitness and transformed her lifestyle in the process.

Recently completing the Yorkshire Three Peaks marathon, Chelsea and her partner Mark were due to go on a holiday to Georgia in the coming weeks; not for a well-earned rest, but to hike across the country and enjoy the landscapes. The coronavirus crisis means those plans have been put on hold but, not one to be defeated, sporty snapper Chelsea has made arrangements to head off to Scotland instead, cycling from Hazel Grove to Edinburgh! Enjoy the change of scenery, Chelsea!

In the meantime, why not browse Chelsea’s portfolios? Whether you’re looking for a photographer to capture a special birthday, take wedding pictures to cherish or give your business that professional touch, Chelsea Shoesmith Photography can meet all your needs.
