Cheshire Home Fragrance – so much more than a candle shop!
29 Apr 2021A newly renovated showroom, state-of-the-art website, range of carefully selected gifts and a love of supporting the community: Cheshire Home Fragrance is so much more than a candle shop.
We caught up with owner Caroline to find out how the popular perfumery has grown and adapted over the last twelve months.

Caroline – Owner of Cheshire Home Fragrance
Now approaching its fourth business birthday, Cheshire Home Fragrance was originally a hobby for Caroline. But with its loyal customer base, new showroom and ever-expanding product range, the company has withstood the Covid-19 pandemic and is set for busy times ahead now the showroom has reopened.
So, just what is it that has enabled the award-winning business to survive the pandemic? Owner Caroline, who remains incredibly humble despite her success, believes it’s down to her passion for the products and her commitment to her customers. She’s warm, friendly and will stop at nothing to make sure her customers’ needs are fulfilled.
By offering a click and collect ordering service – as well as hand-delivering packages in the local area herself – Caroline has remained busy during the pandemic and has worked behind the scenes in her showroom throughout. Having given so much to the business since the start, she was adamant not to let it suffer.
Among the ways Caroline has diversified her offering is by expanding into the homewares and gift market. Seizing the opportunity to acquire a workshop adjacent to her original showroom, Caroline has created her very own gift, home and fragrance empire just down the road from our doorstep in Hazel Grove.
Conveniently located just moments from the A6 on Bramhall Moor Lane’s National Trading Estate, the Cheshire Home Fragrance showroom is finally open (for good, we hope!), and with five allocated parking spaces (and the option to call ahead to gauge customer numbers), a visit here is far less stressful than a trip to the high street.
When visitors arrive at the Hazel Grove showroom, they’re greeted with a smile and the irresistible aroma of Caroline’s creations. A beautifully tiled foyer welcomes shoppers, who can browse artwork by talented local painters or have a seat while they wait to enter.
Inside, the newly renovated home and gift showroom wows customers with its industrial-yet-cosy feel. Cleverly combining brick, crates and reclaimed wood with blankets, cushions and accessories, Caroline clearly has an impeccable eye for detail as well as a keen sense of smell!
The showroom has been completely transformed: when Caroline originally took on the space, it was a run-down workshop with peeling walls and bare concrete floor. Now, it’s light, airy and inviting, full of treats to delight your senses. You may be on the lookout for a gift when you visit, but you’ll find it hard not to treat yourself as well!
Next to the beautifully styled home and gift area is the original fragrance showroom. The room is lined with beautiful dressers laden with candles, wax melts and diffusers. There’s a sophisticated scent for everyone and it won’t take you long to find your favourite at Cheshire Home Fragrance.
By focusing on quality rather than quantity, Caroline prefers to have a streamlined range of classic scents rather than hundreds of variations. “I get asked to recreate well-known perfumes all the time,” she says, “but my customers love my range, and most of them make repeat orders.”
Alongside her commitment to producing quality products, Caroline is also devoted to giving back to the community. Following the Manchester Arena bombing in 2017, Caroline began producing a Manchester Bee candle for a charity set up by her friend Martin, who was injured in the attack. She’s now supporting Martin’s Mountain – he’ll climb Mount Kilimanjaro later this year to fund raise for the Spinal Injuries Association.
With all her fundraising, renovations, candle creating and more, Caroline has shown herself to be a very adaptable business owner and all-round lovely member of the community. Visit her new showroom next time you’re nearby and you’ll see exactly what we mean.
