Conor really packs a punch at Anytime Fitness

Down’s Syndrome Awareness Week is an annual event that helps to raise awareness of Down’s syndrome.  This year, the campaign takes place between 20-26 March and the focus of the campaign is to encourage those with Down’s syndrome to express themselves and, importantly, to be heard so that others understand their needs, thoughts and opinions.

Conor Sheehan, 18, from Bramhall is a regular at Anytime Fitness in Bramhall. Conor joined Anytime Fitness when the gym first opened earlier this year, and he does not let Down’s syndrome get in the way of his health and fitness.

Conor loves boxing at the gym but is also an avid football player.  Conor says, “I really look forward to all my workout sessions at Anytime Fitness in Bramhall. I go to the gym 2 times per week, and I usually box, but I also enjoy using the running machine and lifting weights.

“Everyone is really welcoming at Anytime Fitness, it is such a friendly and fun atmosphere. I have made a lot of friends since joining the gym, and I always have a good laugh. It really is brilliant!”

Dan Haywood, Manager of Anytime Fitness Bramhall commented. He said,

“Conor is such a great guy and we love supporting his health and fitness here at the gym. He is very enthusiastic and hardworking, and he can really throw a strong punch!”

Dan continued,

“People with disabilities are no different than anyone else, they also need to release their energy, lose weight, keep fit and socialise. Conor is awesome and we love having him at our gym. Everyone is welcome at Anytime Fitness.”
