Head Boy and Head Girl Lead the Way at Hulme Hall
23 Aug 2019With 19 GCSEs between them Hulme Hall Grammar School‘s Head Boy and Head Girl are celebrating after a successful results day.
Leaders in every sense of the word, Joe Hayes from Didsbury and Yashni Vithlani from Tameside, were perfect ambassadors for the school encouraging and nurturing children in lower year groups. They have now gone on to achieve some excellent results providing the perfect ending to their Hulme Hall career.
16 year old Joe, who was voted Head Boy at the beginning of the last academic year, has been an inspiration to his peers having chosen to study Music outside of the normal timetable in order to achieve the 10 GCSEs that he wanted.
Said Joe “I am so pleased that the extra work that I put in has now paid off. I hope that it shows other people that if you work hard for something then you can achieve it.”
Joe was also successful in completing the AQA Further Mathematics paper which will set him up for the next phase of his education at Xaverian College where he will be studying A levels in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
For Yashni, Hulme Hall has been a big part of her life since she began in Nursery at the age of 2 and she is thrilled to be leaving with 9 GCSEs including a grade 9 in French.
Said the 16 year old, “I started here as a shy 2 year old in 2005 and since then, Hulme Hall has given me the confidence to believe in myself and has shown me that with hard work and encouragement, you can achieve everything you want.”
In the Autumn, Yashni will be going to college to study A levels in Biology, Environmental Science and Graphic Design with the hope of making a difference in the future by becoming a Wildlife Conservationist.
The pair are not alone in their success at the school. Hulme Hall has once again achieved some excellent exam results and is well above the national average in both English and Mathematics.
Headmaster, Mr Dean Grierson, believes that this is down to the partnership between pupils and staff who work hard to ensure that they every child secures the success that they deserve.
Said Mr Grierson “As a non-selective school our aim is always to allow our children to achieve, if not exceed, their potential and once again the results show that we have fulfilled our objective. We are confident that our pupils leave having a sense of purpose and a lifelong love of learning.”
As thoughts turn towards the new academic year, Open Events will be taking place in October and November, with in-session Open Mornings running throughout the year. Further details can be found on the Hulme Hall website at www.hulmehallschool.org
