Heavy rain causes flooding around Bramhall
12 Jun 2016Heavy rain causes flooding around Bramhall. Incredible footage has been shown all over social media of the floods that hit Bramhall on the evening of Saturday 11 June 2016
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue services were called out to Bramhall Green roundabout where the Ladybrook and Mickerbrook River burst it’s banks. Many people were evacuated from their houses and one lady was rescued from her home in a wheelie bin. Click here for the amazing footage.
Businesses, Nisa and Brian Sharples funeral directors were hugely affected and a number of homes on Bridge Lane have been flood damaged. Also the Guide Hut’s floor behind Nisa has been completely ruined, sadly they weren’t insured for flooding.
Ian Pettigrew shot this footage in Happy Valley on Saturday evening, click here
Jackie Carter has sent us footage of her home on Bridge Lane, near the Brookdale Club, click here to watch the film

Cllr Linda Weekes-Holt visited residents today that have been affected, she said..
It is absolutely soul destroying when you see the awful damage inside the houses.
Many thanks to Ian Pettigrew, Harry Hill, Michele Blackwell-Frier, Chris Marsh, Cllr Linda Weekes-Holt and Jackie Carter for the images
