I LOVE dementia specialists Ambiance Care
4 Jun 2021Every three minutes, someone will develop dementia – that’s almost 210,000 annually, with the number projected to rise to 1.6 million over the next 20 years.
Someone who knows better than most just how challenging it can be to care for loved ones with dementia is Diane Browczuk, Founder of local dementia homecare specialists Ambiance Care.
With more than 25 years’ professional experience in health and social care services, qualified social worker Diane left a long and successful career to care for her mum as her dementia progressed. During those 15 years, Diane experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to access the services and support that family carers need.
“Despite the fact that three in five of us will become carers at some point in our lives in the UK, carers often don’t come into contact with services until they reach crisis point – there are many who pass under the radar of health and social care organisations,” she says.
Knowing what help is available, who to approach and how to apply for support can be a minefield, putting additional pressure on family carers.

Ambiance gifted cakes to our essential workers as a random act of kindness.
“For most things in life there is a recognised gateway you can go to for expert help and information; not for caring,” Diane says. “I set up Ambiance Care to bridge that gap and to provide others with the information and support that we struggled to access when caring for mum.”
Based in Cheadle Hulme and covering all of Stockport, East Cheshire and South Manchester, Ambiance Care offers both hands-on dementia care – personalised to each individual – and an advisory service covering everything from navigating the care system to benefits and grants that individuals and carers may be entitled to.
It’s a one-stop-shop for dementia care and information, led by someone who has lived through all of the experiences and challenges that carers encounter on a daily basis.

Having learned through her own experience of being a dementia carer, and through those of the multitude of families she’s met along the way, Diane is shaking up the dementia care system with a service that’s dedicated to – and passionate about – supporting people living with dementia or memory difficulties and their families.
“We work to ensure our clients are fully included, understood and supported to live the life they choose in their own home and connected in their community,” Diane says.
