I LOVE Booicore

26 Oct 2017

“When adventure calls, Booicore answers.” Booicore is an exciting new clothing brand specialising in various bags, t-shirts and their famous changing towel. We met with Anita Rosebury the owner of Booicore to find out more about them!

Anita lives in Wilmslow with her husband Julian and their little dog Jackson (who accompanies Anita to work) so is conveniently just down the road from where she works on Moor Lane. She went to university at the University of Central Lancashire where she studied international business. A job straight after uni followed where she had a lot of dealings with Eastern Europe and then moved into workwear. This is still what Anita does after setting up on her own in August 2009. She and Julian both have full-time jobs and yet still find time to dedicate to Booicore! Julian is an IT programmer and advises into the business as well as tries out all the samples (of course!).

Anita describes herself as a workaholic so doesn’t have a lot of time to partake in sports herself and recently had spinal surgery to resolve an injury probably stemmed from childhood. The surgery was a massive success and she couldn’t be happier in the way it has transformed her life. Going from being in agony just standing and talking to people to suddenly being as good as pain-free, she’s delighted with the outcome! Anita does partake in exercise though at her local gym, as long as it’s low impact for her back.

Julian himself is a keen sports enthusiast. Windsurfing, mountain biking, triathlons, skiing… you name it – he does it! He went through a phase of buying lots of changing towels through the big brands only to notice that after two or three washes, they’d be ruined and fall to pieces. With Anita’s manufacturing and clothing background, she suggested that the pair make their own changing towel. Using Anita’s vast experience in this field, they noted all the things that they didn’t like about their previous ones, asked around their friends for some market research and came up with what we know now!

Booicore

The first order soon followed from Juice Board Sports and that was the one that got the ball rolling towards the success that Booicore has become. One colour option changing towel became five options, a website was built and of course, more products were introduced. T-shirts, dirtbags, gym bags and laundry bags to name but a few. At the time of our chat, Anita was very excited about a new product is in the pipeline too but wanted to keep the cards very close to her chest on that one.

Booicore recently also launched their kid’s range of changing towels which they’d never done before. High demand resulted in this development and it has gone from strength to strength since then.

Booicore

Why is it called Booicore? Does it mean anything? We were intrigued so had to ask! The ‘Booi’ part is a nickname that Julian had as a youngster, so it adds a nice personal touch to the family-run business!

Booicore

There’s a lot in the pipeline for the future of Booicore such as a new mountain biking range so keep an eye out for what they’re up to if you’re into your outdoor sports! It was great to chat to Anita and we’re lucky to have them on board at I Love Bramhall!
