I LOVE Bramcote Dental Practice
3 Apr 2018The prospect of a trip to the dentist isn’t one most of us savour but for clients of award-winning Bramcote Dental Practice, the experience is about as far removed from unpleasant associations as humanly imaginable. I Love Bramhall paid an eye-opening visit to the practice on Syddal Road to admire the unique and stylish surroundings and learn more about the services on offer.
Since moving from its former location by Bramhall Health Centre in the 1990s and undergoing full refurbishment several years ago, Bramcote Dental Practice has transformed into somewhere the likes of which you’d never expect to find down a village side street. Close your eyes and imagine that visiting the dentist is more akin to enjoying a relaxing trip to the spa – finely fragranced, beautifully designed and complete with contemporary art. Now open your eyes: welcome to Bramcote Dental Practice.
It’d be easy to mistake the practice interior for that of a plush hotel; a scented candle burns at the reception desk – which is manned by a smiling, attentive receptionist – and stylish accents line the walls, illuminated by the ambient lighting. There are reams of magazines to thumb and, should you need to ‘relieve’ your nerves before the impending dental exam, you can do so in what has to be the chicest WC you’ll see for miles.
Heading up reception and all aspects of media at the practice, Louise Rothwell leads a tour of the practice, revealing several modern, stylish treatment rooms off the main corridor, each as aesthetically pleasing as the next and kitted out with the latest technology. We’re joined by practice manager Gaynor Pennington in the furthest room, which is light and airy with full French doors and a skylight through which patients can gaze while being treated. To the rear of the practice is a well-kept outdoor space with fountains, which clients can enjoy during the warmer months.

The Bramcote Team
Up to ten members of staff work at Bramcote at any given time, including dentists, hygienists and an endodontist – a specialist in root canal work. Owner and head clinician Dr Nigel Saynor has led the practice for more than three decades and is himself renowned for his pioneering work in the field of dental implants, Gaynor says.
Nigel regularly lectures at the University of Manchester and welcomes students to the practice for mentoring, as well as running day courses for dentists keen to hone their technique and learn from the master of the ‘Teeth in a Day’ treatment. The process involves fitting a full set of implants for patients who have missing or failing teeth over the course of a single day.
In fact, such is the surgery’s sterling repute that clients travel in not only from across the country but from locations as far-flung as Singapore to benefit from the practice’s professional expertise and second-to-none service. Offering specialist treatments alongside general dentistry, Bramcote also performs facial aesthetics and is excited to launch a new service in the coming weeks – details are under wraps for now so keep an eye on the surgery’s social channels for more information.
The practice continues to set the standard for North West dentistry and was recently recognised for its success on a national level, being named Best Practice at the Dentistry Awards 2017. The prestigious title is awarded every year to the country’s top surgery, seen to excel in clinical practice, prioritise team happiness and leadership, connect with the local community and go above and beyond in caring for patients.
Living locally, Bramcote’s staff are well known throughout the village and actively work to support local events and good causes. Among its charitable endeavours, the practice takes part in the annual Scarecrow Festival, which raises money for a number of charities each year. Committed to giving every good cause their full effort, the team has won the competition twice!
For 2018, the practice is supporting Dementia UK and has already raised more than £400 with a recent tea party in aid of the charity. Later this year, several members of staff will also be taking part in a midnight trek up Snowdonia in the hopes of raising vital funds for the charity.
