I LOVE Church Lane Garage

Driving a Bargain – Pulling up outside Church Lane Garage, I suddenly remembered that the ILoveMobile was overdue a service.  Cue the standard panic about servicing costs, and the anticipation of a sharp intake of breath by the mechanic…

 This was quickly replaced by a breath of fresh air when I met garage owner Dan McCall whose friendly and knowledgable approach quickly put my mind at rest.  “We work across all car manufacturers and our service rates are set at £55 an hour” Dan explained.  At this point I let out an audible sigh as I know for a fact that my main dealer charges around £130 an hour, plus parts.

 

Based in Woodford, Church Lane Garage is a long standing, family run business that offers a one stop shop for repairs, servicing and MOTs. Run by Mark Whittingham and Dan McCall, whose father Dave McCall started the business 40 years ago, the garage is also an accredited Independent Jaguar and Land Rover specialist.

 

Inside the office I spotted the “Trust My Garage” logo, endorsed by the RMI (Retail Motor Industry) which brings with it a huge amount of reassurance when handing your keys over.  Dan walked me around the garage and proudly pointed out their investment in new equipment including a new computer diagnostics system and an Automated Test Lane (ATL) for faster MOT testing.   

 

 It’s certainly an impressive set up, and a couple of additional services worth highlighting are that the garage specialises in servicing Air Conditioning systems (something many motorists often forget needs maintenance) and for Bramhall’s keen bikers the garage offers motorbike MOTs too.

 

As you would image, the whole team at Church Lane Garage are proper Petrol Heads and they jump at the chance to discuss the ins and outs of each customer’s motor. There’s a good dollop of garage banter greasing the wheels at all times too, which shows that the garage team are a friendly and approachable bunch, and it keeps waiting customers well entertained in the office.

 

Nothing is too much trouble. The garage offers ‘while you wait’ appointments and even a collect and deliver service across Bramhall, Wilmslow, Cheadle, Woodford, Poynton, and the surrounding areas. “Our customers come back to us time after time and that’s something we are proud of” said Dan.
