Next time you take a trip down Moss Lane, keep your eyes peeled – you might just discover one of Bramhall’s lesser-spotted businesses. Tucked away above the local chippy is Construction Q – a team of award-winning quantity surveyors responsible for managing money and enhancing value in building projects.

Established by owner Fiona Hull in 2010, Construction Q started out as a home-based project that grew rapidly, transforming into a prestigious practice that now employs five full-time staff members – all of whom live locally.

Fiona moved to the Bramhall area after attending university in Loughborough and made herself well at home, charmed by the friendly ambience and great local facilities the village has to offer. Community spirit counts and here in Bramhall, it’s something we have by the bucket load! The other staff members – Catherine Tinsley, Mark Shakespeare, Matt Gough and Tony Sebouai – all live in Bramhall or nearby in Stockport, and it’s this flexibility of living and working locally that the team really appreciates.

Construction Q is the go-to choice for building project management in Cheshire and across Greater Manchester; accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and committed to looking after their clients’ interests, the practice assists busy individuals and companies with budgeting, sourcing contractors and managing building processes, saving time and adding value along the way.

As well as serving private individuals, the firm also assists developers, insurers and contractors with their pricing and contracts. Well equipped to deal with all manner of projects, Construction Q has an efficient supply chain of construction professionals – including designers, contractors and trades – to call on should the need arise.

The practice boasts a truly diverse project portfolio, dealing with numerous commercial jobs as well as work on high-end and bespoke homes. Currently, the firm has a chock-full schedule that includes quantity surveying for local primary school Pownall Green, a number of footballers’ mansions and a selection of apartments in Manchester’s Northern Quarter.

Construction Q also takes on projects further afield; in Liverpool and neighbouring Widnes, the practice is managing the renovation of three church projects and a care home, alongside more than a dozen bespoke construction projects for individual clients. Currently, the company’s most valuable project is worth a staggering £300 million!

Despite such a busy work schedule, Construction Q somehow manages to make time for giving back. Admirably, the business has been working with Northwich-based children’s cancer charity the Joshua Tree, providing pro bono services for a £2 million respite centre for young cancer sufferers.

A little closer to home, Construction Q has recently sponsored Bramhall and Woodford Rotary Club’s Santa Sleigh, which travels around the area during December meeting and greeting youngsters and generally spreading festive cheer. The practice is also a proud benefactor of local football team Juno United AND Bramhall Cricket Club!

As well as being generous to a fault and a strong supporter of the local community, Construction Q has an impeccable professional reputation; as a result, the business is regularly nominated for awards. With several accolades already under its belt, Construction Q could soon be in line for a couple of big wins from business network the British Chambers of Commerce and national body the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).
