We all know that when you look good, you feel good, and Guinot Bramhall are experts in helping the village’s residents feel relaxed, refreshed and rejuvenated. I Love Bramhall met up with owner Karen Hargreaves to find out just what makes Guinot the perfect place to pop into for a pamper.

Step inside Guinot Bramhall and the first thing you’ll notice is the tranquil ambience. Decorated in the brand’s classic clean white and deep red shades, the salon has a fresh yet relaxed ambience and is a welcome retreat from the bustle of the high street just outside the door.

Despite being a relatively new addition – having opened its doors in September 2017 – Guinot Bramhall seems right at home in the heart of the village, due in no small part to the salon’s heritage as Beauty by Barnett – Karen’s former business.

A qualified beauty therapist with a background in corporate marketing, Karen has a head for business. Karen decided to invest in her Bramhall premises by becoming a branded franchise. Having consulted with a number of skincare houses, Guinot was the obvious choice; the prestigious French brand, founded several decades ago by famous chemist René Guinot, is known for its expertise in facials, body treatments and hair removal.

Beauty by Barnett was already a Guinot stockist and, after due consideration, Karen decided the franchise was the perfect choice for Bramhall – and we don’t disagree; a champion of ethical beauty, Guinot is an innovative brand with multigenerational appeal. As environmental and ethical issues are increasingly at the fore of public awareness, Guinot is a leader in its industry, producing treatments formulated from renewable sources, without parabens or GMOs and never tested on animals.

The brand’s proactive approach to skincare runs through its entire product range; even the cosmetics on offer contain skin treatments that get to work behind the scenes. It’s this level of quality that sets Guinot salons apart; the ethos of skincare in general should be that the treatments quite literally care for the skin, and at Guinot Bramhall, there’s no question of that.

Karen, who lives locally in Marple with her Mum, manages a team of seven staff at the Bramhall salon, which prides itself on the high standard of both the products and services on offer. Specialising in facials, body treatments and depilation, the salon also offers an array of additional beauty treatments, from manicures and spray tans to slimming treatments.

Guinot thinks of its staff as beauty doctors; offering an in-depth consultation and skin analysis, taking into account lifestyle factors and health, therapists are trained to provide expert advice and treatments tailored to each client’s unique needs.

The Bramhall staff are all fully qualified and refresh their skills regularly, making the journey down to head office in Ascot for dedicated training sessions when a new treatment is released. Guinot Bramhall’s beauty therapists also spend time honing their techniques by performing treatments on one another – this enables continual learning and ensures each member of staff is attuned to the client experience.

If you’re wondering where these treatments take place, you might be surprised to discover that the labyrinthine salon actually boasts six treatment rooms beyond the main shop floor, each as sumptuous as the next. Plans are afoot to develop the third floor but by far the absolute jewel in the salon’s crown is to be found on the basement level.

Head downstairs to discover a plush space with reclining chairs, robes and slippers, a stand packed with cosmetics and plenty of room for around five guests to enjoy themselves. This special area is a relaxation space used by clients before their treatment and also as an area for groups – the salon caters for bespoke requirements, even providing lunch and fizz on request.
