I LOVE Salon 57, Bramhall

As soon as you walk through the door of Bramhall’s Salon 57 you’ll know you’re in a friendly and happy place. Salon 57 simply exudes a welcome!

Set up by Debbie McGifford three years ago, Salon 57 has a fantastic team. Debbie herself has been in hairdressing ten years, and is something of an inspiration. In her own words, she’s proof that it’s never too late for a complete change of direction, career-wise. Passionate about hairdressing, she’s ably supported by the wonderful Jack, April and Alice, who’s due to finish her apprenticeship soon. Lisa also works at Salon 57, as a lash and nail technician. Together, this experienced team pride themselves on working with their clients to deliver a WOW factor.

Going back to that lovely, friendly welcome, Debbie tells us that she wanted to create a salon where clients feel comfortable, but that also delivers a really good job. Salon 57 is conveniently located with plenty of easy, free parking, in a lovely community-spirited area of Bramhall. The team can do edgy, but are also just as happy to look after babies, to elderly ladies – and everyone in between. In fact, Jack and April are also trained barbers, so men are also well catered-for.

When first setting up three years ago, Debbie tells me that the biggest challenge was building up a client base from scratch. Her business, marketing and customer services background came in handy! The business has done really well. Debbie opened in January, with – what else? – a January sale. Now, there’s a sale every January. Salon 57 also offer a loyalty card, which rewards clients with a free cut and blow when it’s full! That said, Debbie recognises that pricing must be right ALL the time. Salon 57 is a truly excellent salon without being overpriced.

What’s been the best thing about setting up Salon 57, I asked Debbie. Before she drew breath, Jack pipes up ‘finding me!’ In fairness, she doesn’t correct him. The banter and gentle teasing is all part of the lovely atmosphere in the salon – the team are like a family. As Debbie points out, they spend so much time at work, they have to get on! It’s lovely to hear the team chatting with everyone, not just their own clients. Each member of the team is happy to chat too. Alice loves the warmth of Salon 57 and genuinely WANTS to come into work each morning. She also gives a fantastic head massage! April loves to do hair-ups, while Jack has seven years’ experience and an eye for a trend. New client today, Adele, also joins in our chat. She’s absolutely thrilled with her new ‘do. Having tried everywhere she’s finally found somewhere she feels happy. Adele will be recommending Salon 57 to friends and family!

Debbie lives locally, and loves Bramhall’s villagey atmosphere and community spirit. She uses all the local businesses, indeed the Hardware Hut, just next door, were able to rescue Jack when he got stuck in the loo! She also appreciates that Bramhall is within easy access of bigger towns. I Love Bramhall LOVES Salon 57. They live up to everything in Bramhall – but with a refreshingly realistic price tag!
