I LOVE The Spice Room

31 Jul 2017
Some like it hot and at ILovebramhall.com we love a good curry, the spicier the better.  And there’s no better place to enjoy good curry than the Spice Room on Dairyground Road.

There’s been a curry house on this site for many years, but since father and son team Rashid and Manj took over the restaurant in September 2014 they have invested a great deal of their time and passion into making The Spice Room one of the hottest places to eat in Bramhall.

Rashid knows all there is to know about cooking up a great curry, having formerly ran the Garam Masala in Cheadle Hulme for over 20 years. Both he and Manj had their own businesses but they decided they wanted to do something together.

And ‘keeping it in the family’ is an important factor in the Spice Room’s success as Manj explained,
“We wanted to create a restaurant that brings back family time together, and where every dish is served with a smile. Customer service is very important to us and we are proud to say that we’ve got to know many of our customers closely”
People say that in the restaurant business you are only as good as your last meal and so consistency is key, as Manj says
“We believe in offering quality food at a good price. All of our food is freshly cooked from scratch to order. Nothing is pre-prepared. We hand pick our spices from the best suppliers in Manchester and we have a great Chef who works his magic in the kitchen”

And Manj has worked his own magic inside the restaurant too; brightening the room by refreshing the colour scheme, adding comfy dining booths and new furniture and also upgrading the air conditioning.

With prices for main dishes averaging between £7 and £8 and also a discounted takeaway menu, The Spice Room certainly does deliver good value. There is a bar serving soft drinks, and existing fans of the restaurant will be quick to tell you about the welcome option to ‘bring your own booze‘ which avoids restaurant bar prices and further cuts the cost of a meal out with friends or family.

The restaurant offers an amazing Early Bird deal that has got the people of Bramhall beating a path to their door.  Four courses for just £10.99, Monday to Thursday 4.30 till 7pm and all day Sunday from 3pm till 11pm. You would be hard pushed to find a better deal in Bramhall.

The menu has a range of classic Indian dishes plus house specials and some delicious fish curries for those who prefer a lighter and option to the the usual ‘chicken, lamb or beef’. But if you have a real favourite that’s not on the menu, the Chef will cater for any special requests.

People are travelling from far and wide to sample the menu including one family from Canada who have made the long trip twice!
Manj explained,
“Wherever you go in the world you always remember places where you had a great meal and we want people to remember Bramhall for a great curry”
So what’s in store for the future at The Spice Room? Manj told us that he has new plans in the pipeline to coincide with the restaurant’s third birthday in September.

“Watch this space” he said, leaving us curry lovers hungry for more…
