Inventive Drinkery; Inventive Networking

On Wednesday 27 October Moxie mingled at Inventery – Cheadle Hulme’s newest, and one of its coolest, bars. Inventery is the very epitome of elegance, but with a twist. A cool, understated and exclusive members’ club-like vibe belies the quirky cocktail list and pop-up foodie features.

Synonyms: creative, original, innovative, imaginative, ingenious, resourceful.

Inventery has little reinvented one of Cheadle Hulme’s oldest buildings in the best possible way. The beautiful property has had many incarnations over the years, but this is our favourite AND it means local people get to appreciate the space, too. It should come as no surprise that the building is owned by Inventive Design Associates. It should also come as no surprise that within their impressive portfolio are several smart yet quirky bars and restaurants. They’re based above Inventery and have reinvented the upper floors and maximised the space there, too. Inventive indeed.

Anyhoo, we digress. Inventery is the perfect Moxie venue and lovely Lucy looked after us well – heavenly frosted cupcakes, anyone? If you haven’t spent an evening there yet (we have, once or twice. Well, repeatedly) you really should. You can’t miss Inventery, right next to another favourite and another previous Moxie venue, the John Millington, just two minutes’ stroll from Cheadle Hulme station.

Sorry – we’re getting all giddy talking about bars and hostelries. Back to the networking. It’s both brilliant and gratifying to see that everyone’s as happy to be back to real life networking as we are, judging by another jam-packed room of local businesspeople. Our attendees’ industries and professions are as diverse as Inventery’s wine and beer offerings. We welcomed accountants and solicitors alongside photographers and copywriters. A personal trainer and a funeral director. Some suits and some Converse. And that’s how we like it. At Moxie, you’ll meet all sorts of people with all sorts of skills and specialties. You just never know who you’ll need or be able to recommend one day – and vice versa.
