Let’s Paint Bramhall Purple!
25 Mar 2014Join in the fun and paint the town Purple in aid of Cancer Research UK, Relay for Life Stockport.
Bramhall is going Purple to support Stockport Relay for Life for Cancer Research. From 24th to 30th March look out for purple window displays, balloons, posters and information to encourage people to sign up for the 2014 Stockport Relay for Life. On Saturday 29th March the Relay Dog will also be in the village square so bring the family along to join in the fun and find out more.
Some of your favourite businesses and shops in Bramhall are also offering purple products and fundraising for Stockport Relay:
Ryan Jake will be donating a pound for every purple product sold. They will be promoting their purple shampoo and offering purple spray for anyone that’s daring enough to have a flash of it in their hair.
The Bubble Room will be selling a purple cocktail – French Martini – and will donate £1 from each cocktail sold during the week to Stockport Relay for Cancer Research UK.
Modiste will be doing a raffle to win £100 voucher from Modiste as it’s their 6th birthday on 27th. All proceeds from the raffle are going to Stockport Relay. They will be open until 7pm on that date and all welcome to join them for some fizz and birthday cake!
A Sweet Thought will be going purple and running a Guess the number of Purple Sweets in the jar.
Alexandra Worsley will have a display of their purple products in the window. £1 from the sale of any of these products will be donated to Stockport Relay
Sharon Wallace has kindly offered to photograph your favourite local business owners in their purple attire so look out for Sharons photographs in the press.

About Stockport Relay for Life for Cancer Research:
Relay for Life is a 24 hour, team based walking event which takes place at Stockport Rugby Club, Bramhall every year. Over the last five years, the event has raised over £200,000, all of which has been used to support Cancer Research UK in the North West. For 2014 Stockport Relay for Life have pledged to raise £42,000 to buy two pieces of equipment for the new ‘more tomorrows’ research unit opposite The Christie.
This year the relay weeknd is 7th to 8th June. You just need 8 to 12 friends to make a team and join in the overnight festival. Bring them together in one incredible 24 hour experience. Team members take it in turns to walk around the track whilst everyone else enjoys the wide range of fun activities on offer. Relay for Life participants can be anyone – people of all ages, ability or fitness levels are welcome. Its not a run, you can walk the track as little or as much as you want to.
