Light Up Bramhall 2014 – Photos!

11 Dec 2014

Bramhall was buzzing full of Christmas spirit this weekend as the crowds gathered for the village’s annual Light Up Bramhall festival 2014.

Despite the chilly weather, the atmosphere at the Light Up Bramhall Festival 2014 was certainly warm with shoppers spoilt for choice at the broad array of festive food and gifts on offer at the Christmas Market stalls; while events hosts, Bramhall Together Trust, kept the warmth going with a well-populated mulled wine bar.  Kids, excited at meeting Santa in his pop-up Village Square grotto run by Fords Lane Church, were also kept amused by a full program of nativity related trail run by the Methodist Church.

The numbers swelled on Saturday afternoon in the lead up to the Lantern Parade. The crowds kept entertained with live music from Bramhall’s talented and aspiring musicians Every Young, Bramhall’s got talent winner Alex Lees and finalist Daisy Willlock on a stage hosted by Imagine FM.  The Mayor and Lady Mayoress joined in the festivities along with Santa. The Christmas spirt continued on into the evening as the Bramhall community joined in with Carols led by Fords Lane Church.

“Bramhall has done us proud once again, Britain’s friendliest village is now well and truly ready for Christmas!” said Wendy Green, the vice-chair of the volunteer group the Bramhall Together Trust and founder of ilovebramhall.com “Bramhall’s ever dedicated business, community and church groups have come together to raise funds to allow this festival to happen and herald in the start of the festive season in style.”

Making a weekend of the event, the Christmas Markets and talented local entertainers continued the festival’s celebrations throughout Sunday for the many hardy villagers keen enough to brave the wintery weather.
