Lumb Lane Park is taking shape

24 Feb 2017

The Friends of Lumb Lane Park  are delighted that after months of fundraising, Lumb Lane Park is finally taking shape!

The new equipment is in, including a multi see-saw, a glider, a basket swing and a new climbing frame.

The grounds have also been re-carpeted with new astro turf which should hopefully stop the flooding that used to happen near the old climbing frame.

Alejandra Solis, Chair of The Friends of Lumb Lane Park, said:

“We are absolutely delighted with the new equipment! The park is looking fantastic and the feedback received has been incredible.”

She added: “Of course our job is not done and we aren’t resting on our laurels, we still want to upgrade the current swings, paint the fence and add more benches, not forgetting about the multi-sports court.”

There will of course be a celebration on the 27 April at Mercato, if you would like a ticket please email [email protected]

The brand new play area is thanks to a £41,825 grant from funding body WREN.

Alejandra Solis, Chair for The Friends of Lumb Lane believes the upgrades and equipment will make a huge difference to the lives of people living in the area and the community.

The FoLLP is a group of local residents working together to improve the play facilities of their park; they hope to raise funds to provide a better suited play area for children, creating a safe space where families can meet up, play, relax, exercise and develop relationships, to build a stronger community and to make Bramhall an even better place to live.
