Mathnasium Bramhall’s open house proves winning formula for local families

30 Jan 2019

Mathnasium, Bramhall celebrated its centre opening on Saturday 26th January by welcoming a host of local families to its new premises on Woodford Road, Bramhall.   The family fun day launch opening gave parents and children the opportunity to find out more about the Mathnasium and its innovative maths learning courses aimed at six to sixteen- year-olds.

Aileen Clarkson, owner of the Bramhall franchise, and her staff welcomed children and parents from
the local area to get a feel for the centre and its approach by taking part in some math’s games and quizzes. Children got to meet the Mathnasium’s mascot Alfie and had a chance to win prizes for participating in the quiz.

UK-born Aileen already has a successful track record in running a number of highly successful centres in America and is passionate about sharing her knowledge and enthusiasm for Mathnasium’s approach here in the UK.  Having previously taught numeracy and GCSE Maths at Stockport College, she feels the Mathnasium Method™ is perfect to supplement the standards set by the National Curriculum. MathnasiumAileen said

“Bramhall is a prime location for a Mathnasium centre due to the high volume of families looking for additional high-level support for maths in school children from KS1 right through to GCSE level.  The programme aims to both pinpoint and support any specific learning difficulties children might be having with the curriculum whilst also offering different ways of approaching the same problem to help develop independent thinking skills. Having experienced the progress and engagement that children have made when learning maths in America, I’m excited to be opening my first centre in the UK and hope to expand across the region. I’m also looking forward to working with the community to help local children discover a love of maths, and to partner with local schools and PTA’s to support their fundraising efforts.”
