Modiste raises £1276 for The Christie
26 Apr 2016For their 2016 charity fashion show on 20th April, Modiste travelled a few yards across the Village Square to Turquoise, where the Mediterranean food was a perfect preamble to the Spring/Summer collection on show.
Tickets for this year’s event sold out in record time and 112 local ladies turned up for a night of food, entertainment, money-raising and, of course, fashion.
Providing the food on such occasions can be a tricky business but Turquoise created a superb set menu that was enjoyed by everyone.
Behind the scenes it was the usual state of organised chaos while Modiste’s wonderful models were prepared for the show. Ryan Jake Hair Salon generously turned up to provide their expertise, while past and present students of the School of Make Up in Stockport supplied the finishing touches.
The whole evening was compered by Pure Radio’s Clare Lancaster and after the show there was entertainment from local singer/songwriter Heidi Dewhirst.
This year’s chosen charity was The Christie and money was raised both through the ticket sales and a raffle on the evening. An amazing number of local businesses donated prizes to the raffle, as well as some of Modiste’s suppliers so there was a good chance of going home with some sort of prize! All this generosity meant the evening raised a tremendous £1276 for The Christie, one of the best totals since Modiste started holding these events.
