Paws and Play family fun day returns to Bramhall for fourth instalment

30 Apr 2019

The fourth instalment of free family fun day ‘Paws and Play in the Park‘ will return to Lumb Lane Park in Bramhall on May 6th 2019.

I Love Bramhall and I Love Cheadle Hulme have teamed up with Friends of Lumb Lane Park once again for this much-loved free community family event and dog show, which will bring together local residents, businesses and, of course, plenty of guests of the four-legged variety.

Paws & Play

Taking place on the bank holiday Monday (May 6th) from 12pm until 6pm, the popular event is anticipated to be bigger and better than ever. Last year’s event drew an estimated 5,000 visitors for lots of free fun with craft stalls, activities aplenty and all kinds of food and drink on offer.

The main attraction is, undoubtedly, the dog show, which welcomes pedigrees and mutts alike to compete for their share of the canine crown. From Remarkable Rescues to Tremendous Toys, dogs of all breeds, sizes and abilities can enter – entrance is £2 per category and entrants can take part across multiple classes.

There’s no need to book in advance, visitors are invited to show up on the day and enter before the show starts at 1pm. The event will conclude at 5.20pm with the Best in Show category, prizes kindly donated by Applaws, Kutchenhaus Wilmslow, Deborah Nichol-Timmins from Ideaz Inc.

Rosettes and certificates will be awarded for first, second and third places in each category, along with prizes kindly sponsored by Notcutts Garden Centre. Judges will include local business representatives including

and we are delighted that our local councillor Linda Weekes-Holt and the Mayor of Stockport Walter Brett will be judging too.

A charity raffle will be held during the event in support of Manchester and Cheshire Dogs Home, who will be selling tickets from their stall on the day and 5 Star Unique Talent will be performing at 12.30pm and 3pm.

Founder of I Love Bramhall, Wendy Green, said:

“After an excellent event in 2018 that saw attendance figures rocket through the roof we’re really excited for what’s in store at Paws and Play in the Park this year. We can’t wait to welcome residents and their dogs to this special event that has brought the community together for four years running.”

I Love Bramhall is grateful to housebuilder Redrow Homes and Stretch Tent Hire UK for generously sponsoring this year’s event.
