Picture perfect weddings, adventures abroad and a new focus: I Love Chelsea Shoesmith 2019

As one of Bramhall’s best-loved photographers, Chelsea Shoesmith has captured the best angles of many of our residents’ wedding days and special occasions. I Love Bramhall caught up with Chelsea to find how her services are expanding for 2019 to include more business photography alongside her ever-popular wedding packages, new-born photo shoots and food photography.

Based in nearby Hazel Grove, Chelsea has many happy childhood memories of visiting Bramhall village, shopping in Woolworths (alas, no more) and enjoying walks in Bramhall Park. She’s a familiar face around the village, having photographed many of our residents on their wedding days, often returning just a year or so later to take some keepsake snaps of their newly-born children.

Chelsea loves nothing more than capturing special moments, feeling humbled to be invited into people’s lives to create lasting mementoes of joyous occasions. Her wedding work has been so well received that her reputation extends across the entire UK!

Her work has also taken her out of the UK and to Italy, where she shot three beautiful weddings last year, as well as to Iceland for a special wedding shoot the year before. We may only just be into 2019 but Chelsea’s already got another big day shoot scheduled for later this year in Italy, and another in Majorca. It’s a lovely way to work, and Chelsea enjoys being able to explore new places – the more remote the better.

One such remote location is the ‘Church in the Sea’. This medieval Church – St Cwyfan’s – is located on a tiny island in Anglesey and only accessible when the tide is out. Chelsea will be photographing a wedding there later this year and can’t wait to get snapping in such a unique location.

A fan of the great outdoors and challenges, Chelsea enjoys nothing more than testing herself in a variety of ways. Since losing her beloved Dad, the importance of achieving a good quality of life has never been clearer to Chelsea – she’s even signed up for a half Iron Man triathlon later this year as part of her ongoing goal to be active, healthy and happy.

Also a keen hiker, Chelsea climbed the highest of the Atlas Mountains – Mount Toubkal – in 2018. She’s also spent some time at Mount Everest base camp, two-thirds of the way up the mountain. It was such a special experience that Chelsea says it’s her dream to shoot a wedding at base camp – what a stunning backdrop the mountains would make!

Alongside her wedding photography, Chelsea is also a pro food photographer – just check out her work for local Indian eatery Bombay to Mumbai and Juniper café branches in Bramhall and Hale for proof. Chelsea also had the esteemed pleasure of shooting Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, when they popped by HMP Styal’s The Clink Restaurant last year!
