
Scarecrow Festival 2016 – The Winners
22 Sep 2016Bramhall and Woodford Rotary put on a splendid Scarecrow Festival on Saturday 17 Sept, raising around £1000 for Purple4Polio campaign, a new initiative to raise money to eradicate polio throughout the world.
There were four categories for entrants and judging took place at three venues around the village.
MP Mary Robinson along with Kirsty, a representative from the main sponsor Redrow Homes judged the scarecrows.
Business & Shops Winner- Bramcote Dental Practise – Mary Poppins
Family & Individuals Winner – Ellie Raistrick – Lion
Tableaux – Corry’s Butchers
Schools, clubs and children’s organisations Winner– Valley School – for the second year in a row!
Around £1,000 was raised for Purple for Polio and the day was great success and brought the Bramhall community together with lots of entertainment around the village.
Bramhall and Woodford Rotary will also be selling their latest publication, Billy Bow’s Holiday for £5.
