Scarecrow Festival with Bramhall & Woodford Rotary

15 Jul 2015

Scarecrows on Holiday 29th August – 12th September

Following the enormous success of our Duck Race Day in Bramhall Park in May which raised over £15,000 for our charities the Bramhall & Woodford Rotary Club are holding an event in September centring on the village itself.

This will be a scarecrow festival with the theme SCARECROWS ON HOLIDAY and will run from 29th August until 12th September.

The scarecrows’ work in the fields and gardens is done for another year and they will be converging on Bramhall Village to begin their holiday fun.

There are three categories for entrants and judging will take place on Saturday 12th September at three venues around the village:

  • Barclays Bank – Local shops and offices entries.
  • Village Square – Schools, clubs and children’s organisations entries
  • Methodist church – Family and individual entries

You can get a creation kit for for just £20 by contacting Maggie at [email protected] or through contacting the Club website or the Facebook page.

All profits will go to our charities. After that you have free rein to dress your scarecrow ready to commence his chosen holiday activity. Props are allowed or you can make your own scarecrow and enter the competition for just £10.

Shops and businesses are being encouraged to display their scarecrows outside their premises for two weeks from 29th August for shoppers to enjoy and attract people to our lovely village.

Who will be first to spot Billy Bow the Roving Rotary Scarecrow? Out and about every day!

There will also be music and dance throughout the village from 12 noon on Saturday 12 Sept
