Family lawyers Sinclair Law expand into Bramhall with Nicola Tiernan acquisition

Family law specialists Sinclair Law are experts when it comes to helping families reach resolutions without costly court cases. Based in Wilmslow, the firm will be bringing its expertise to Bramhall with the acquisition of Nicola Tiernan Solicitors, creating a supportive, skilled team with decades of expertise in high net worth cases.

Having recently taken on the former Nicola Tiernan office on Woodford Road, Sinclair Law’s co-Director Lucy Hart and solicitors Suzanne and Agata have been settling into the premises, where Nicola will continue to work under the exciting new sub-brand.

With the same ethos and collaborative approach to reaching resolutions, the brand acquisition made sense to both businesses, Lucy says. 

“We’ve worked with Nicki for many years – often on the other side of cases. We share the same ethos, the same client base and the same high level of service that always aims to achieve the best outcomes for clients.

“As busy solicitors with high volumes of work, we’re keen to support each other – working together means we can do this effectively while also sharing in the benefits that teamwork brings.”

Both businesses specialise in family law, which includes divorce, financial and child care matters, and protecting the rights of unmarried couples. In addition both Sinclair Law and Nicola Tiernan have also long used what’s known as the ‘collaborative approach’, which aims to reach a resolution without matters going to court wherever possible. 

This approach means that parties work together to agree on outcomes, avoiding the stress and expense involved in court proceedingsThe expansion of Sinclair Law into Bramhall brings with it some unique benefits, the first being that the business also deals in wills and probate, so residents will now have a local port of call for these services.

Proudly inclusive, Sinclair Law also has LGBT+ family law expertise: solicitor Suzanne has run a legal surgery for the LGBT+ community in Manchester for 15 years and is a member of the LGBT Family Law Institute. Meanwhile, solicitor Agata is a Polish speaker, so is able to translate and explain the sometimes confusing legal jargon to a growing base of Polish clients.
