Solfix: Helping us enjoy the outdoors, whatever the weather

11 Apr 2019

The start of spring calls for enjoying the longer evenings in the garden – but we all know better than to put too much faith in the Great British weather! That’s why Cheshire-based company Solfix are dedicated to helping people enjoy outdoor living, come rain or shine. I Love Bramhall met up with owner Ian Moran to find out more.

Originally set up in Macclesfield a decade ago, Solfix supply and install home improvement services, from stylish awnings and verandas to sturdy windows and doors. They opened their Bramhall branch five years ago and have been helping to keep homes in the village looking lovely ever since.

Working from their Macclesfield and Bramhall bases, Solfix can get out to homes all over Cheshire and South Manchester, from Stockport to Stoke-on-Trent and everywhere in between. Their Bramhall shop is, of course, a very welcome addition to the village, which means locals can have a look at the products on offer without having to head out to the head office in Macclesfield.

No job is too big or too small for Solfix, who can sort everything from a misty window to a brand new conservatory. The 25-strong team, led by Ian, Glenn and Paul, all work full time and are experts in what they do.

The Solfix showroom in Bramhall has recently had a bit of a makeover of its own, and it’s well worth popping in to say hello and have a look at some of the products on display or to meet the team and get a feel for all they offer. Having attended school in Bramhall and lived locally all his life, Ian loves the community vibe of the village, and the company reflects this. People – not profit – orientated, Solfix deliver the products and services of the standard associated with large corporate business, but with the personal touch only a local firm can add.

The shop is handily situated in the Village Square, which gives that extra level of peace of mind that you can easily drop in if you have any queries. The company is FENSA-registered and all products come with a ten-year guarantee, so if you’re not happy (though we’re sure you will be!) you’re fully protected.

Though Solfix are able to fit and maintain a wide range of products, the real showstopper among customers has got to be their conservatory warm roof conversions. Though lightweight, warm roofs offer maximum insulation and can do wonders for home ambience (and energy bills!).

Able to both deflect heat in the summer and retain it in the winter, the roofs are an ideal solution for a conservatory that’s always either too hot or too cold. They look stunning from the inside, too, and can make a tired conservatory feel like a new extension in just a few days.

Solfix do their bit to give back to Bramhall, taking part in local events and getting to know the community. They also make sure to look after the environment, which means all waste products – including glass taken out of old windows – gets recycled rather than being sent to landfill.

Under the Solfix umbrella is East Cheshire Glass, who Solfix purchased the assets for around three years ago. They provide double and triple glazed glass for all kinds of windows and conservatories, meaning Solfixreally is your one-stop-shop for improving your home.
