Sunrise Celebrates International Nurses Day
15 May 2015Sunrise Celebrates International Nurses Day
For many people the 12th May probably slipped under the radar. Given the people who it champions, perhaps this wouldn’t be a surprise.
First organised in 1965, on the birthday of Florence Nightingale, International Nurses Day was celebrated this week – in a quiet, understated way – by the nurses who fulfil such a vital role caring for the neediest and most vulnerable in our society.
No more was this in evidence than at care homes up and down the country, including Sunrise of Bramhall, where nurses Jenny Brunton (Assisted Living Coordinator), Marie Anne Retter, Kirsty Bull, Karen Shingler (Wellness Nurses), Angela Sands (Director of Operations) and Siobhan Bailey (General Manager) were all smiles as they collected their well-earned gifts.
Three cheers for Britain’s nurses!
