Vulcan Bomber to fly over Woodford

24 Jun 2015

Bramhall and Woodford residents will have a fantistic opportunity to see the Vulcan bomber flying over Woodford this Saturday 27th June before it retires from flying later this year.

Registered as XH558 the former RAF Vulcan bomber is predicted to fly over Woodford Aerodrome at 15.09 this Saturday

A few months ago, the Secretary of the British Aviation Preservation Council (BAPC), Brian Dixon, approached Vulcan to the Sky Trust’s Chief Executive, Dr Robert Pleming with an idea. He proposed that XH558 should visit all the surviving Vulcans in the UK and if possible perform a short display during their final year of flying as a special “goodbye”…..’Salute to the V-Force’ was born. They are fully committed to delivering this tour; with an estimated total flying of nearly 7 hours, it’s going to cost over £50,000 to deliver, organisers are appealing to the public for support to help cover the £50,000 costs of delivering this tour.
