Action For Sick Children – Crowdfunding Campaign
18 Nov 2016Have you heard? Action for Sick Children is launching an amazing new project – The Magical Power of Play Appeal. Through this appeal we will be providing essential play resources to sick children in hospital across the UK.
It’s magical, it’s powerful, it’s play!
Action for Sick Children is delighted to announce that we are awarding the very FIRST play resource box to Stepping Hill Hospital, this Chritmas 2016. To enable us to provide these essential play resources we are raising funds through a Crowdfunding Campaign started on Monday 14th November at 2pm, until Monday 19th December 2016 at 2pm
Imagine your child, grandchild, niece, nephew or a child you care about has been admitted to hospital.
When this happens a child can feel their most vulnerable. Not only are they unwell, but they are separated from their family, friends and familiar surroundings, which can lead to increased stress.
Through our Christmas Crowdfunding Campaign the Magical Power of Play Appeal would like to raise £7,500 to provide three play resource boxes to hospitals in the UK. Sick children will benefit from resources such: arts and crafts materials, toys, games, sensory items, medical preparation toys and electronic and entertainment resources.
What is Crowdfunding?
This is a way of raising a specific amount of money from individuals for a specific project in a specified time frame.
How do I help?
We are requesting our champions to assist us by helping to spread the word of the appeal and raise £200 towards our overall target. This can be done by asking for support from your friends, family, work colleagues, gym buddies, fellow dog walkers or anyone you know basically!
What will be achieved?
- Target #1 – raise £7,500 by Monday 19th December 2016 at 2pm. This will enable the Magical Power of Play Appeal to provide 3 play resource boxes to hospitals in the UK.
- Target #2 – win up to £2,000 in bonus prizes through the ‘Gateway Challenge’ via GlobalGiving UK. This is a competition between us and approximately 60 other organisations, participating in the Crowdfunding Challenge.
- Target #3 –thank our wonderful supporters and report back to them how their fantastic donation has made a difference to lives of sick children in hospital.
- Target #4 – Give sick children in hospital their play resources. Our chosen hospital to receive the very first award is STEPPING HILL HOSPITAL, STOCKPORT on Tuesday 20th December 2016.
