Action For Sick Children – Magical Power of Play
11 Dec 2017At Action for Sick Children, we’ve believed in the magical power of play for over 50 years.
By providing toys as a welcome distraction during an otherwise dull and unsettling hospital stay, we believe play has the power. The power to aid recovery, drastically increase a child’s ability to cope with an unfamiliar environment and even provide them with a deeper understanding of their treatment and illness. Just like you, at Action for Sick Children, we believe that all sick children should have access to age-appropriate play during their hospital stay.
In 2018 we want to provide vital play equipment to ten children’s wards across the UK. Children’s wards like the one at Pinderfields hospital, where children can now enjoy a fantastic sensory experience thanks to their brand new Sensory Voyager Hurricane Column. Providing play equipment to ten children’s wards will cost a total of £25,000…that’s FIVE THOUSAND FIVERS!
By donating £5 to our Magical Power of Play Appeal, you are helping sick children to live life to the full despite their illness, and feel comforted in an otherwise uncertain time.
