CHESHIRE-based children’s charity Action for Sick Children’s ‘Zumbathon Dance Spectacular,’ which attracted supporters from across the region last month, raised an incredible £1,390 thanks to a generous pound for pound match by Barclay’s Bank.

Cheadle Hulme based Zumba® Instructor Fiona Watson was delighted with the turn-out of supporters to the Ladybridge Park Residents Club where they were able to “Shake their Thang” in true Zumba-style and in support of the long established children’s charity.

The Zumba® philosophy is that ‘everyone is welcome’ so it was fantastic to see so many people joining in, young and old!” said Fiona. “Having only been teaching for just over a year this was my first Zumbathon and I was keen to make it a successful, fun and uplifting one. I am super proud of everyone involved, every helping hand, every donation given and especially everyone who came to dance! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Action for Sick Children Chief Executive Val Jackson said she was extremely grateful for the huge support of the Zumba participants and delighted by the generosity of Barclays
