I LOVE Davies Chiropractic Care
8 Aug 2018Just what is Chiropractic and what can it do? Consult Davies Chiropractic Care and discover the benefits for yourself – but for now, read on… Chiropractic focuses on the diagnosis and manipulative treatment of mechanical disorders or areas of restriction within the joints.
According to the NHS,
“Chiropractic is a treatment where a practitioner uses their hands to help relieve problems with the bones, muscles and joints.” Some people consider Chiropractic a complementary medicine, but in actual fact it’s a Primary Healthcare Profession.
Uses of Chiropractic
Chiropractic can ease pain in muscles and joints, and conditions such as:
Elbow pain and tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) arising from associated musculoskeletal conditions of the back and neck, but not isolated occurrences
Headache arising from the neck (cervicogenic)
Joint pains
Joint pains including hip and knee pain from osteoarthritis as an adjunct to core OA treatments and exercise
General, acute & chronic backache, back pain (not arising from injury or accident)
Generalised aches and pains
Lumbago
Mechanical neck pain (as opposed to neck pain following injury i.e. whiplash)
Migraine prevention
Minor sports injuries
Muscle spasms
Plantar fasciitis (short term management)
Rotator cuff injuries, disease or disorders
Sciatica
Shoulder complaints (dysfunction, disorders and pain)
Soft tissue disorders of the shoulder
Tension and inability to relax
Back and neck pain
Shoulder pain
Pain from osteoarthritis
Also according to the NHS, bad backs alone cost the UK thirty one MILLION work days. Each of the highly qualified – and calmly approachable – team at Davies Chiropractic Care is a specialist in Muscular-Skeletal problems. Chiropractic care is all about diagnosis, treatment AND management, and can make all the difference to patients’ lives.
Sam
Samantha Davies, founder – and Principal Chiropractor – of Davies Chiropractic Care, is passionate about her profession – and her clinic, which has grown rapidly from its inception. Sam started out renting a room with a local physio. Since graduating with a Distinction, Sam has continued to develop her skills, expertise and qualifications. She has a special interest in treating CrossFit athletes and weight-lifters – not simply to treat injury, but also to help improve performance and prevent injuries. This comes from her involvement with the sport, and her resulting injuries. Sam’s experience means fewer of those injuries – and the knowledge to help other people avoid them.
Sam is registered with The General Chiropractic Council and The British Chiropractic Association and her qualifications (so far) include:
• Master of Chiropractic (Welsh Institute of Chiropractic)
• BSc Biology (Manchester Metropolitan University)
• Dry-Needling Level 1
• Active Release Technique (ART) Certified (Lower Extremity)
• Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation Basic A
• Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation Exercise 2
But do watch this space – Sam will continue to add strings to her bow!
Kate
Kate Bayley is a Chiropractor, with a degree from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic, registered with The General Chiropractic Council and The Scottish Chiropractic Association.
Kate aims to free her patients from pain, and to guide patients towards better, healthier lifestyle choices in order to function at their optimal level.
Kate says “Spinal health is often taken for granted. People usually seek out chiropractic care only when there is pain or discomfort. However, Chiropractic has many benefits – it can be as crucial as exercise and diet in keeping well and preventing injury.”
Kate keeps fit in her spare time – enjoying netball, yoga and country walking.
Qualifications• BSc Chiropractic (Welsh Institute of Chiropractic)
• Medical Acupuncture Level 1
• Medical Acupuncture Level 2

Ashleigh
Ashleigh Smith is Davies Chiropractic Care’s Soft Tissue Specialist. Born and raised in Durban, South Africa, she developed a passion for sport and fitness, enjoying netball, football, swimming and above all, horse riding. After a few injuries of her own, she became fascinated with physical therapy and rehabilitation.
Ashleigh has a BSc in Human Physiology, Genetics and Psychology from the University of Pretoria but her interest lay in treating injuries and chronic pain, so she went on to gain her Diploma in Soft Tissue Therapy AND became certified in Equine Therapy.
Ashleigh still utilises her degree knowledge to advise patients, helping them make small changes to benefit their everyday lives. She has a love for health and fitness and finds it incredibly rewarding to see her patients’ progress.
Ashleigh is registered with the Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage.
Qualifications:
• BTEC Level 5 Soft Tissue Therapy (Oxford School of Sports Massage)
• ITEC Level 3 Sports Massage (North East Surrey College of Technology)
• BSc Human Physiology, Genetics and Physiology (University of Pretoria)
• Winks Greene Faradic Therapy Certificate (BSET Academy)
With such a dedicated team, it’s little wonder that Davies Chiropractic Care has grown so rapidly – and will continue to grow, albeit organically and manageably.
Sam explains
“We aren’t a high-volume clinic. The Davies Chiropractic Care ethos is quality, not quantity, so we spend longer with our patients. The aim is to always get the patient well as soon as possible. Care can continue on an ad-hoc basis if needed.”
Chiropractic can also bring blessed relief in pregnancy. It’s a totally safe treatment when many are unsuitable. Pregnancy can be magical – but it can also be a real pain. Pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain occurs in approximately 20% of pregnancies, from the end of the first trimester all the way through to the early days as a mum. With chiropractic, mums-to-be no longer have to just tolerate pain and discomfort. Sam is also an expert in the Webster Technique. The Webster Technique helps align the pelvis, allowing breech babies to turn.
One client who has sought chiropractic help from Sam in pregnancy – and beyond – is Julie. Julie suffered dreadful, debilitating pain from a disc injury caused by lifting her rather heavy little boy. Hoping to avoid surgery, she tried an intensive Chiropractic course. That was two children ago – and life has been pretty pain-free since. Well, as pain-free as life with three young children can be…

Now Pain-Free and Two Children Later…
Julie says “taking up Pilates and visiting Sam for a top-up session every 3-6 months, particularly through two more pregnancies, has really helped keep my back healthy”.
Countless other reviews and glowing testimonials speak for themselves. If you’re a martyr to your back, or you suffer with painful joints, give Sam and the Davies Chiropractic Care team a call. Chiropractic is so much more than an ‘alternative’ medicine. Along with some healthy lifestyle adjustments, Davies Chiropractic Care can truly can help you get your life back.
