I Love Equity Living

Some companies are blessed with a diverse workforce and can, therefore, present their clientele with a range of distinct services. This circumstance applies to Cheadle Hulme based estate agents Equity Living, a local business offering their clients competitive fixed property fees on a no sale, no fee basis.

Many people associate Equity’s branding with its subsidiary, Equity Housing Group, who have offered assistance with shared ownership properties for twenty-five years.

Phil Robinson, Manager at Equity Living, is keen to ensure that Equity Living is differentiated from the Housing Group counterpart. The business is a fully-fledged, specialist estate agent, providing support for sellers, buyers, landlords and tenants.

“The Equity brand covers a lot, in the sense that we cater for housing group work and estate agency work. However, people don’t realise that Equity Living is just a normal estate agent; there’s a misconception that we only deal with the housing association and shared ownership properties.”

Property in the North West is currently in high demand, with Manchester recently named the second most popular UK destination, with only London regarded more sought-after.

Such is the urge amongst property hunters to secure a home in the region that developments in suburban areas such as Stockport, the Four Heatons, Cheadle Hulme etc. are being snapped up.

“We offer a range of services for clients on the search for a home. This includes lettings, sales, free valuations. Equity Living specialises in shared ownership and new builds, so we do tend to focus on these types of properties; if people are looking to sell these types of property, then that’s something that we especially concentrate on.”

Despite the digital era taking a stranglehold, it isn’t unusual for people to sell their home traditionally, at a high street agent. However, such is the highly competitive pricing structure in place at Equity Living, that the branch allows clients to combine the affordable pricing of online agency fees with in-person service.

“We’re always complimented on how cheap and competitive our fees are here at Equity Living. We’re a lot cheaper than traditional high street agents, our costs are closer to online fees and we provide the added incentive of being able to speak with a team in a high street office.”

Some may fail to appreciate the multiple processes that must be completed before the completion phase. Thankfully, the team at Equity Living are well-versed in providing quality care at every stage of the customer journey; no stone is left unturned, from the initial enquiry, right through to the day when the client moves into their new home.

“We offer so many circumstances, depending on whether you’re looking to rent or buy. For renters, we specialise in lettings management, inventories, assisting with moving tenants into a property for a tenant-only find, as well as full-management services.

“For our clients who are purchasing a property, we offer free valuations and have a database of properties throughout Stockport, as well as properties as far as Chester, Denton, and Blakeley.”

Although there are plenty of other companies vying for the attention of house hunters at this point, Phil Robinson highlighted Equity Living’s differentiating factor that pinpoints the company as the preferred option for many of their clients.

“Understandably, there are many companies within our area, yet we continually have people who come and see us when they’re either buying or renting a property.

“We offer extremely competitive fees, but we don’t sacrifice our high-standards and quality. Properties are advertised on Rightmove and we have a high street presence, so we have everything that you’d expect from a customer perspective.”

“We also use technology to send personalised videos at different stages of the transaction, to provide our clients with updates.”

There are instances whereby property companies are sometimes critiqued for being heavily motivated by financial return, without offering a high-quality, personal service for the customer. However, Equity Living subverts this unfair stereotype and apply the consummate application to

ensure that customers feel valued. The company is also a not-for-profit organisation and invest profits for the greater good, as explained by Sofie.

“Equity Living gift our profits back to the housing association. We’re a not-for-profit organisation and any money that we make during the calendar year is gifted back and the funds are used to build shared ownership properties and so forth; it’s extremely rewarding to contribute the fees and see them go to some marvellous causes.”

An estate agent with grand ambitions, Equity Living encourage their clients to bide their time to ensure that they unearth the perfect property. The satisfaction of their clients is paramount, with the company alleviating stresses with a personable, flexible approach.
