Since the formation of EweMove in January 2017, Matt and Andrea Markham have devoted copious time and effort towards putting their company firmly on the property map.

After refining the sales element of the business, the Cheadle Hulme business-owners have now taken significant strides towards enhancing their overall service package for prospective clients with the addition of property lettings services.

Matt Markham, co-owner of EweMove, said:

“Things are going really well; the first year was all about establishing the company and building the brand. Then, in the second year, we acquired a lettings portfolio; that was a significant step forward for us, giving us the opportunity to take a significant step into the lettings field – we’re also starting to get more established on the sales side via word of mouth etc.”

A forward-thinking company, EweMove places a strong emphasis on the importance of customer service, taking pride in their willingness to go above and beyond to ensure that their customers are provided with a positive experience, a philosophy outlined by Matt:

“Our ethos is based very much on customer service; we provide our clients with one point of contact right from the beginning – we talk to customers, book their appointments, make time to go and see the customer, discuss fees and valuations and remain in the picture until completion. We offer a sense of continuity and the customers seem to like this approach.”

EweMove’s decision to distance themselves from the high-street has paid dividends and has developed into a unique selling point for the company:

“We feel that people rarely shop on the high street for houses anymore; our approach works incredibly well because we can react so quickly – we’ve organised viewings within an hour on bank holidays. When everyone else is shut, we’re still working, providing a service and showing our customers that we’re working hard for them. We offer a premium service, with features such as accompanied viewings and professional photography included as standard.”

EweMove’s no-sale, no-fee policy further represents the company’s dedication to prioritising customer experience, with Matthew and Andrea driven to find the most suitable homes for their clients:

“We’re local people and are equipped with great knowledge of the area,” Matthew said, “I’ve lived in Cheadle Hulme for forty-seven years so between us we have over sixty years experience of the area. If you get customer service right, then you’re heading in the right direction, regardless of industry.”

Andrea Markham, the co-founder of EweMove, echoed the thoughts of her partner when discussing the importance of high-quality customer service:

“We offer a twenty-four-hour service for customers. Customers have the facility whereby they can log onto the website to book viewings and appointments for valuations. If our customers would prefer to ring up our twenty-four-hour line, there will always be somebody who can help; we like to alleviate worries and sleepless nights.”


The twenty-four-hour customer service model has also been applied to the new lettings service at the business, with tenants given an abundance of support by EweMove, as outlined by Matt:

“On the lettings side of the business, we also offer around-the-clock service. For example, if a boiler breaks late at night, the tenant doesn’t have to wait until the next morning to report it; depending on the nature of the repair, we’ll get somebody out immediately and the customer won’t have to worry about reporting it in the morning. In the event that there was a leak, the team would explain how to turn off the water supply, preventing further damage; we always have somebody on hand to provide continuous piece of mind – that’s something that we want to offer with our lettings service.”

Despite their recent excitement after venturing into the lettings market, EweMove is refusing to rest on their laurels. When asked what the next chapter of the EweMove story holds, Matt Markham said:

“We’re hoping to establish ourselves as a market leader; we’d be interested in buying another acquisition if the right opportunity presented itself, and we’d like to expand our staff. We’ve been in the property sector for eleven years now, during which time we’ve built a great range of contacts and we’re excited to offer lettings services, as well as sales.”
