I Love Moxie Mingles at Gusto Cheadle Hulme
13 Oct 2021ANNNNND, we’re back in the room! I do feel that needs a bit of a fanfare. Maybe even a drum roll… Because Zoom networking just ain’t the same. Virtual certainly wasn’t suitable for Moxie’s signature brand of low-key, laid back, really rather lovely networking. So, thank you ALL for making our first Moxie back SUCH a success, and on a personal level, helping Wendy take yet another step towards reclaiming her wellness and mojo.
Last Friday, 8 October, saw us convene at one of our eternal favourite Moxie spots, Gusto Cheadle Hulme. There’s a lot to love about Gusto – the bright, airy space is PERFECT for even the biggest gatherings – and it was there for all to see on Friday. Two things you’re guaranteed at Gusto are impeccable service and superb food, and we were well and truly spoilt on both scores.
First, Gusto’s Alex Ellis welcomed us with genuine warmth and enthusiasm, which punctuated the whole afternoon. This true hospitality was equally evident in her entire team.
We were promised ‘some pizza’ and sweet tasters, and boy, did they ever exceed our expectations! Delectable pizza after delectable pizza (light and crispy base, flavoursome toppings in JUST the right proportions) was delivered and duly devoured. I think it’s safe to say the usual Moxie chatter was paused for a while, replaced by several versions of ‘Mmmmm’ and ‘oh, wow’. Yep. Pizza really CAN be that good. But then, Alex and team brought us melt-in-the-mouth mince-pie dough petals and the softest, velvetiest (yes, yes, I know it’s not a word) brownie bites EVER. And as if that wasn’t all treat enough, we then enjoyed Gusto’s Christmas mocktail. Designated drivers and teetotallers, never again need you tolerate boring soft drinks. To coin a phrase, this is not just food…
But I digress, distracted by the thought of that divine pizza. Networking. Oh yes. So, not only was it brilliant to be back, but it was brilliant to be back at Gusto. As always. Many old friends (yes, the result of networking with Moxie) joined us. There were also many new faces and entirely new industries, further proof that Moxie really is for anyone. Wendy’s intros were, well, mostly word-perfect, give or take (sorry, Leighton. The clue is in the name. Leighton Snow Estate Agent), and the in-intro conversations touched on subjects as diverse as naughty schnauzers and post-funeral fireworks. I know. You had to be there.
Make sure you ARE there next time – join us at Inventery Cheadle Hulme’s newest and oh-so-stylish bar from 2-4pm on 27 October. I Love Moxie Mingle. This is NOT just networking!
