Moxie Mingle at Oddfellows on the Park

15 Oct 2018

Moxie positively jumped at the chance to mingle at Oddfellows on the Park, the sumptuous new 22-bedroom hotel on Bruntwood Park, which connects Cheadle Hulme and Cheadle. New life has been breathed into the long-unloved Bruntwood Hall – but with total respect to its history and heritage. The result is a masterpiece, bringing the past to life in a very current way.

Moxie Mingle

Numbers were looking good and we came close to breaking our previous attendance record. With over fifty people in the room, the buzz of chat and laughter was fantastic and we hope you got to speak to everyone – although not to worry if not, join us for Afternoon Tea at Oddfellows on Monday, or for our next Mingle at Alderley’s the Botanist on 1 November… In the meantime, there’s always Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn – so do get connecting. It was wonderful to see the room in use, with its well-appointed bar, adjoining parlour and stunning terrace overlooking the beautiful gardens. What an amazing and flexible space – and what a venue for a special occasion.

Hayley and Alana of Oddfellows were the perfect hosts and happily showed everyone around the hotel. Safe to say, we were blown away – especially by some of the suites, the Galloping Major restaurant and the Pigsty Salon de Beauté. Once the coffee and fresh pastries had hit the spot, it was soon time for introductions and Wendy was almost word (and name) perfect. It’s always impressive – more say today with sheer numbers and so many new faces. Two such new faces were Dr Erinma Bell MBE DL BA and husband Ray, whom we were honoured to welcome. Erinma is the co-founder and chair of CARISMA – Community Alliance for Renewal Inner South Manchester Area and has made an incredible difference to her area. The word ‘inspiration’ is sometimes overused, but we can all agree it applies to Erinma.

Here’s what a few ‘minglers’ said about the event

Darren Nightingale – Cheetham Jackson

Thank you to the amazing @MoxieMingle for another fantastic networking event. It is amazing when you have a relaxed atmosphere how much better the networking is because everyone is relaxed. Though Wendy, going through and introducing 51 people and their businesses is amazing.

Michelle Malkin – Cheeki Monkeys

Thanks Wendy for organising another fabulous event.  The sign of a good event is how long people hang around afterwards. People just didnt want to leave!  So many amazing people and companies represented.

Mandy O’Reilly – Hulme Hall Grammar School

Just wanted to say what a fabulous event, can’t wait for the next one.

Moxie

Mixing, mingling and our own brand of informal, no-pressure networking continued with connections made and friendships forged. Such is the beauty of Moxie networking – it works and it’s actually an absolute pleasure.

Thank you everyone for coming and we look forward to see you again at the Botanist on 1 November.
