Recycle your Christmas Tree with JustHelping
28 Dec 2017Leave the effort of getting rid of your old Christmas tree to JustHelping and help raise money for local charities
The JustHelping charity is encouraging people to take advantage of a special Christmas tree recycling service this year, which will take away the headache of removing trees and raise money for local people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses.
JustHelping is collecting trees in SK2, SK3, SK4, SK7, SK8, M20 and parts of WA14 and WA15 on the 6th & 7th January 2018.
People can sign up to register their tree via the website and help raise money for charities including St Ann’s Hospice.
Trees will be collected by volunteers in lieu of a donation from the public. Last year more than a dozen Stockport community groups collected 1,340 trees locally for recycling, raising a staggering £11,246 for St Ann’s Hospice. JustHelping also makes donations to local charities as nominated by the volunteers who so generously give up their time and help with the collection. Last year monies were donated to Francis House, Kidscan, Stockport Send Families, Wellspring Stockport, Chelwood Food Bank and Weekend Day Centre for Dementia Care to name but a few.
The JustHelping mission is to bring communities together through volunteering and fundraising and they have set a target of 2000 trees this year hoping to raise even more money for St Ann’s Hospice and other charities. So please do get involved and book in your tree now! Registration closes on 2nd January 2018.
It’s simply a great way to support local charities and we take away the post-Christmas stress of clearing away the tree too. Everyone wins!
