I LOVE Snowden Wilkinson, the Cheadle Hulme Personal Estate Agent

5 Feb 2021

A wise woman once said of instructing an estate agent ‘ALWAYS go with a local, independent agency, because to them, every single sale matters. Their livelihood depends on it’. It was me, Kate, I said it.

Kate from ILoveCheadleHulme.com has used Snowden Wilkinson to buy, sell and rent out, so you know she’s put her money where her mouth is and can fulsomely recommend.

With Snowden Wilkinson, It’s Personal…

Snowden Wilkinson know the area and get to know YOU. They live here. They provide their mobile numbers to communicate when it suits YOU. Moving home is stressful, so Snowden Wilkinson do their absolute best to help.

Snowden Wilkinson is also a real family business. Directors Ian Wilkinson and Rob Snowden, and their wives Lucy and Mel, have been friends for years. All still live locally, so know their stuff when handling your sale or rental.

The property market in Cheadle Hulme is buzzing. Sure, it’s always buzzing – but successive lockdowns and ever-changing tiers could’ve dented demand for Cheadle Hulme houses. They haven’t. Snowden Wilkinson, and all Estate Agents, emerged from the first lockdown back on 13 May 2020. Despite doom mongering and gloomy financial forecasts, from day one, the Snowden Wilkinson team was incredibly busy. The ever-buoyant Cheadle Hulme property market was boosted even further by the stamp duty holiday announcement in June.

Using Lockdown to Grow

Rob, Ian and the team used the initial lockdown to develop their team and adapt the business. They worked to give the team a work/life balance, while continuing to deliver the usual premium service to clients. Ian tells me

“We talk to our clients on WhatsApp and social media. We changed our phone system so we can work remotely, and for staff working in the office we now have a locked door policy to give them a safe environment.”

Snowden Wilkinson always innovate and always go the extra mile. They do their research so know where buyers are looking, and what sellers want. Photos are all professionally edited to make each home look its absolute best. HD walk-through video tours of each property, drone footage or aerial photographs really showcase a property.

Ian continues

“We have upped our social media game and in recent months, with the help of I Love Cheadle Hulme, posts have reached as many as 90,000 people per month, which has a direct impact on our sales levels. The culture of our business and our amazing team give us a fresh, modern appeal which suits our clients.  Later in the year we gave our branding a bit of a facelift which reflects our new look and feel.”

They also ditched the stuffy, corporate suits and ties. The more relaxed and approachable image has been well received thus far!

Dream Homes

The Snowden Wilkinson team sold some of Cheadle Hulme’s most amazing homes last year. One such was the stunning Hayloft at Ladybridge Barns. Many of us remember Leather’s Farm and can only admire the beautiful, sympathetic conversion to sought-after residential properties. Snowden Wilkinson also handled the much talked about sale of 30 Ramillies Avenue to fundraising platform, Omaze. Omaze’s ‘Million Pound House’ draw benefitted the Teenage Cancer Trust charity to the tune of quarter of a million pounds. And that’s just the beginning. Omaze has committed a minimum of one million pounds to Teenage Cancer Trust over the next three years from UK donations

Ian Garrick from Mablethorpe, Lincolnshire was visibly thrilled when he learnt he’d won the house. Father of three Ian sadly lost his wife Julie to cancer a few years ago. He paid just £10 for 15 entries to the Omaze Million Pound House Draw. Although he was blown away by the house and loved everything Cheadle Hulme has to offer, his entire life, family and livelihood are firmly rooted in his Lincolnshire home. He has decided to sell the incredible Ramillies Avenue house on. Snowden Wilkinson have, once again, been chosen to handle the sale. Feast your eyes on this dream house here.

Every Sale Matters

Like I said earlier, every sale matters to Snowden Wilkinson and these were just two examples. Many other sales were handled by Snowden Wilkinson’s amazing sales team of Josh, Beth and Lucy. Each sale is handled with the same level of dedication and customer service. Around June, Millie joined Snowden Wilkinson to help the exceptionally busy and successful sales team. Millie’s remit is to work on marketing, branding and the customer journey. Millie is yet another Cheadle Hulme local and has, says Ian, been a big asset so far.

The Snowden Wilkinson lettings team of Kate and Mel is every bit as conscientious and committed. They manage all the rental properties, and work with the tenants AND the landlords, so to ensure the smooth running of tenancies. Both were very impressed with the beautiful Victorian house that Snowden Wilkinson let on Moseley Road.

Snowden Wilkinson in the Community

One thing even 2020 couldn’t derail was the Snowden Wilkinson charity effort. As well as their annual push to collect Easter eggs for sick children, Snowden Wilkinson did their bit for Charity with several donations to local causes. This included ‘Run the Month’ where they each ran 50 miles in October. This raised over £1100 for Prostate Cancer UK. Challenges for this year are still being discussed…

Snowden Wilkinson LOVE Cheadle Hulme

Trends and demands in house hunting change and develop with time, but the sought-after status of Cheadle Hulme remains constant. Superb transport links, consistently high-performing schools, good restaurants and shops along with countryside on the doorstep ensure that. Buyers’ search criteria, influenced by the need to stay home, includes high demand for large gardens and home office space. Ian believes that lockdown and subsequent restrictions spurred people on to make changes or moves they may have been thinking about for years.

Rob, Ian, Lucy, Mel and the team all live in or near Cheadle Hulme. They really know and love their village. This gives them a unique advantage which benefits their vendors and landlords. They were thrilled to see Inventery open last year and can’t wait to add the bar to their regular haunts. They’re also big fans of the Church Inn and John Millington. The pubs, and the smaller, quirky bars like Inventery, Archive and Chiverton Tap form a big part in the demand for living in Cheadle Hulme, according to Ian.

Service is a bit of a buzzword in business. For Snowden Wilkinson, it’s the intangible ‘x’ factor which inspires people’s confidence and trust. Throughout their nearly 13 years here in Cheadle Hulme, Snowden Wilkinson have worked hard for every one of our clients. Every client, every sale, every rental. Every single property. They ALL matter to Snowden Wilkinson. Yours will, too.
