We LOVE Bubbly Birthday Parties!
13 Feb 2020I Love Bramhall and I Love Cheadle Hulme marked a very special event last week when we celebrated our sixth and fourth birthdays respectively. The Bubble Room pulled out all the stops for our party, and alongside raising a few cheers we also raised more than £2,300 for charity! Keep reading for all the details.
It was a long time coming but on Friday January 31st we were able to celebrate I Love Bramhall and I Love Cheadle Hulme’s birthdays – at last! As many of our readers will know, 2019 was an intense year, with Founder Wendy out of action for a few months following surgery. Our joint birthday party didn’t come a day too soon, and a fantastic time was had by all!
Wendy and I Love Cheadle Hulme’s Kate were joined by the rest of the I Love team, lots of friends and representatives from the local business community for a night of live music, mingling and entertainment.
Musicians Ian Lawton and Tony Grimes of Interfuture Weddings & Events performed some absolute belters and really made the event come alive, while magician Paul Hazelby wowed the crowds with his expert conjuring displays and sleight of hand.

We were treated to delicious nibbles, themed cupcakes and complimentary prosecco, and the bar was busy all night, with The Bubble Room’s charity gin going down a treat!
Held in honour of men’s mentell health charity Mentell, the event was generously sponsored by RGI Solutions – we are so grateful for their support in making this special occasion happen. The Bubble Room kindly let us use the venue for the event, free of charge, and have also named Mentell their charity of the year.
We held a charity raffle in aid of the cause, which raised more than £2,308! Gifts were kindly donated by many of our local businesses, including Bramhall-based Eds Hair, Guinot Bramhall, BE Lifestyle Boutique, Keller Kitchens, Romulus, Amaranth, Modiste, Plumcake Café and Construction Q.
From Cheadle Hulme we were generously supported by Rainbow88, Chapel Holistics, Your Support Team, Julie Widdowson Hypnotherapy, Desired Physique by Michelle Brookes, Hair By Claire, Fuzzy Goose, Manchester Event Management and many more!
Businesses from in and around Stockport also leant a helping hand and contributed to the raffle, including Cheshire Home Fragrance, LIT, Sphere Financial Services, Daisy Imprints, Lovely Lashes of Cheshire, Class Security, Short Construction Ltd, Strength & Performance, Beauty by Megan, Cocktails’n’Canvas, Maid About Cheshire, Toni & Guy Macclesfield, Prickly Pear and Coalwood Heating Centre and Tropic Skincare rep Ingrid Odell – a massive thank you to everyone!
Mentell provides free mental health support for men via local group meetups, encouraging men to open up, talk about their feelings and provide mutual support in hard times. Peter Longbottom, who co-founded Mentell following the sudden loss of two close friends, joined us on the night. He leads local male-orientated support group SpeakEasy on a Monday evening at Hazel Grove High School.

Peter commented:
“Mentell would like to thank Wendy and The Bubble Room for supporting Mentell. We started out as a group of five guys meeting in Bramhall village and have grown to something much bigger. Awareness is everything and this night has been a fantastic way to get the word out.”
Also joining us on the night was mental health advocate John, who raises awareness through John & Charlie’s Journey on social media. Trauma and abuse survivor John takes Charlie the duck everywhere, including to our event. Why? To encourage people to talk and end the sigma around mental health.

John and Charlie
John said:
“It’s really important to raise awareness for mental health, Charlie sparks people’s curiosity and gets them talking. People often don’t talk about how they feel for fear of being judged, but we want to change that and relieve that stress on people’s mental health – it’s good to talk.”
Bramhall and I Love Cheadle Hulme Founder Wendy Green commented:
“Our joint birthday party was bigger and better than we could have imagined! We extend a hearty thanks to the Bubble Room for their generosity, and to all the businesses who kindly donated to the charity raffle.

The I Love Team
“We’re delighted to have raised more than £2,300 for Mentell and the Bubble Room has pledged to continue fundraising for the cause throughout the year – look out for the blue coasters encouraging men to open up. It’s so vital that we are able to talk freely about how we’re feeling – it can literally save lives.”
Once again, a big THANK YOU to RGI Solutions for sponsoring the event, and to everyone who came on the night – all proceeds will be donated to Mentell.
