Helen Alcroft

Hi I’m Helen and the newest member of the I Love Communities Team.  I’m the face and voice for I Love Alderley Edge. My life is closely entwined with our amazing village having attended school at St Hilary’s School (now part of Alderley Edge School for Girls).  I was married to my husband Mark at St Philip’s Church in the village and our children attended Ryleys School and Alderley Edge School for Girls.  

Home is also in the village where I have lived for over 30 years.  Over the years I have watched many games of cricket at Alderley Edge Cricket Club where both my husband and son have played and helped organise fundraising events for the Club.   I’m a member at Wilmslow Golf Club too – it is great that we have so many choices for sport on our doorstep.   I am usually in and around the village when free time allows meeting friends and family at one of our great choices of restaurants and bars or supporting the local businesses by shopping local.

My working career has been in the Travel and Tourism and Hospitality Industries in sales and marketing and I first met Wendy Green at one of the Moxie Mingle networking events that she organised. When I heard Wendy was looking to set up the brand I Love Alderley Edge I knew it would be perfect allowing me to stay local and be out and about meeting people which is what I love best.  I’m also very lucky to have the support and knowledge of the I Love Team and we are excited to build something very special with the I Love Alderley Edge brand.

Giving back to people is important to me and I work with an amazing group of volunteers on the NSPCC East Cheshire Special Events committee.   Over the years we have helped raise thousands of pounds for the NSPCC and Childline with local events.   One was held a few years ago at the Botanist in Alderley Edge and more recently a drive in Cinema Event was held at Capesthorne Hall.  The I Love Communities brands helped promote this event to make it a great success.  

When I am not in the village or on the golf course I can usually be found trying out new recipes in my kitchen, travelling ( especially to Mallorca ) or helping people lead a healthier lifestyle through my Arbonne Independent Consultancy Business.   

What am I looking to do next ?   Get to know more local people, groups and businesses in our lovely village … oh and learn to speak Spanish!
